Great stuff Kevin...and drawing attention to the wonderful selection of pictures on the Brentford Dock Residents website.Hans and Duncan do a great job. It's not just the historical write ups and pictures but up to date ones as well..including the recent Royal Wedding and St George's Day celebration. The last picture..the one you asked about is reproduced before. I reckon it was taken in the mid 1950's when the old Chiswick Roundabout was enlarged... to make it into a full circle. you can see the two pubs that were on the High Road there..one was called The Gardeners I think..(doing this from memory) and on the left side(where the Peugeot Garage is today) you can see the old Rolls Royce and other post cars'Coachbuilder ..called Edingtons? The centre of the picture shows the demolition of the houses in Stonehill Road? and through to Wellesley Road..and onwards to link up with the Cromwell Road Extention which had been constructed partly before the War and finished off in late 1950's.The first construction was the Chiswick Flyover itself which was opened in 1959 by Jane Mansfield(?)..hence to recent ceremony there conducted by Cllr Paul Lynch. It was basically a long bridge over the roundabout. Later, in the 1960's, the M4 Motorway from Chiswick was constructed ond opened in 1965 I believe...which that amazing double decker roadway through Brentford and the Viaduct over Boston Manor Road and the Macleans Factory.  Wewll that's enough from me.. here's the picture.. hopefully!
