Green Dragon School - who is starting in September?

hi, my son is starting school at Green Dragon in September - not something I am entirely happy about, but I am prepared to be proved wrong!Does anyone have a child currently in the Reception class and can tell me if they are happy with the school? And does anyone have a child starting in September?  Would be great to meet a few parents so we have a first day club for our kids?Gina

i have had 4 children at green dragon and i went there myself good school

My two daughters went to Greendragon school for a short while in the late 70s early 80s.  It was always my intention for them to attend St Johns school and in the early 80s I transferred them to St Johns where they were very happy and did very well but, the teachers at St Johns commented on how well taught they were which I saw as a copliment to Greendragon and I believe they have maintained a fairly high reputation since then.

I work in a top 20 independent school.  We have a girl who came from Green Dragon for her senior education.  She is delightful, clever and the school staff followed her progress and were totally caring and thrilled when she got a place with us.  She has been back to encourage parents to apply to independent schools -  Give it a try - lovely staff.Sam

It's a great school. My kids went there quite a while ago but if its ethos hasn't changed, your boy will do well by it

You are very lucky to have a child going there - the teachers and sense of community are great. I think your son's happiness and progress there will depend on how good his form teacher is and how well your son relates to him or her and that would be the same at any school - I've had two children go through various primary schools in Chiswick and Brentford due to several house moves - both children had mixed experiences at them all - my son was particularly happy at Green Dragon it's a lovely school and parents tend to get very involved in fundraising and having fun together - a lot to look forward to!

what a regrettable thing to say when you appear not to have any experience of the school . My 2 children have recently finished and I consider them very lucky to have gone to such a great school; as do they themselves.

I work closely with Green Dragon School  they have a good OFSTED. There are parents fighting to get their a child a place. Have a look at the OFSTED report as another parent suggested.

Seems to have a good OFSTED report with very favourable comments from the Inspector. Based on that I can't see why you are not happy with sending your little boy there. Have you looked at the report? - it might help put your mind at rest.
