20 listed buildings in Brentford

There are 20 listed buildings in Brentford..... Ill start...NO 1,  The old Fire Station.  No 2..... The Brentford Baths.... any more please?  Thanks  Simon

Thanks Jim,I wonder why the plaque was not replaced! The old wooden sign was peeling badly so good to see it's been done up. I must confess to avoiding The Weir so that's probably why I hadn't noticed the blue plaque and it's disappearance.

Diane will be surprised to see this picture of the old Turner plaque which I have now located amongst my year 2005 pictures of Brentford TownSo it's been removed and not re-installed!

Regarding the old White Horse / The Weir...I definitely remember taking a picture of a Blue Plaque for Turner and I recall that it must have been removed before 2006.Previous messages on the subject were posted here years ago by Duncan Walker and Michael Fletcher (RIP) and can be accessed via FORUM SEARCH.In the meantime, here is an old picture of the White Horse taken about 40 years ago.

No sure if THAT PUB ever had a blue plaque, but they have recently done up/replaced a wooden sign giving Turner's history with the place.

Has The Phoney Pony taken down the blue plaque that recorded the former prescence of the great painter Turner?I didn't see it on the building last time I went past.Bad form if they have.

Is this building listed?  The new inhabitants have placed several plastic signs on the front, completely out of character with the building!  A real shame.  :-(

That list of your is very enlightening Neil. thanks.No1 and No2 West Lodge are of course in Gunnersbury Park facing the Great West Road. Just one of them is occupied I believe.Thanks for the Sarah Trimmer reminder Adam.So, Neil listed 30.. wow!

Ah, Boston Manor House was already mentioned by Kevin.So how about this place?No! not the Travel Lodge...the old Church School in front.. I've forgotten the famous lady's name!

Syon Lodge (Crowthers old place)?, Syon House, Gunnersbury House and the adjoining smaller House,Express Pub?, Kew Bridge Station?, that old School Building next to Old Piano Museum (St georges Church?,Boston Manor House,Old Convent in the Butts?

The old Beechams tower (now called Wallis House, Barrats).  That was listed I believe by one of the MD's of Beechams when he found out that SmithKline were going to merge with Beechams (perhaps take-over is a more appropriate word) and he wanted to make sure that the building was protected to prevent a repeat of the Firestones fiasco.

Kew Bridge Steam Museum, Boston Manor House, The Old Pumping Station in Pump Alley, Several properties in The Butts, Various buildings on the Great West Rd & I think the old Health Centre on the High St may also be included.

Brentford baths? Brentford library?St Lawrence church?Magistrates' Court?Old Piano museum?I could list other suspects. But....... only 20 listed buildings in Brentford? I would have thought there would be many more with the Butts and other parts.
