Hypocrisy of the Phone Hacking Scandal.
Having looked at all newspapers this morning, I must say that I was disappointed in at most 2 paragraphs in each paper, about the arrest of a Detective Constable a member of Deputy Commissioner Sue Akers Operation Weeting team. Who has allegedly given first hand information to the Guardian, this allegation came about when information that had not been released by Scotland Yard in fact the arrest had not even taken place appeared on the Guardian Website reporting the arranged arrest of James Desborough.Officers of the MPS Directorate of Professional Standards Anti-Corruption Unit had arrested a serving MPS officer whilst he was sitting at his desk on suspicion of misconduct in a public office relating to unauthorized disclosure of information as a result of a proactive operation. The detective has been suspended from duty and is on bail due to return September 29th pending further inquiries. It stands to reason that the exclusives that the Guardian have been overtime able to print must have allegedly come from inside sources, although the Guardian when asked if payments had been made to the Police, said in a statement "In common with all news organisations we have no comment to make on the sources of our journalism" Whatever the outcome of this investigation we must maintain the Freedom of our Press.
