Muggers active in Brentford

On Saturday morning at about 2am, my 19 year old son was returning home after a pleasant evening with friends. He was set upon in Boston Manor Road by a group of 6 Somali young men and robbed of his phone and money. The police told him that this was not an uncommon occurrence and that they were aware that this gang was operating in the area. Is it too much to hope that the police will target these people to ensure that they are caught and prosecuted. My son's feeling was that the police, although sympathetic and supportive of him, felt that it was just one of those things that you have to expect and that there was little possibility of resolving.

Then perhaps the CPS should get of their backsides and out of their safe office environment and trawl the streets alongside our Police and see what tragedy and sorrow these little thugs can and do bring to a family knowing full well that they will not be punished..It is a disgrace, how are they to learn that it is wrong if they can continually get away with it.

It is not the police that determine what offenders are charged with but the CPS. Sentences then reflect the charge, I imagine the police get as frustrated as the rest of us when they see little scrotes getting off lightly.

He will probably get 20 hours community service, the Police try their hardest at the best of times. Yes I do know that we are running out of prison spaces therefore lets build more and utilize the inmates, some of them at least, it would give them an incentive and keep them occupied plus give them a sense of pride.

My 18 year old was beaten and robbed in July, police have arrested someone, and it should get to court, CPS willing, in about 2 months time. So sometimes they do get their man, now we have to wait to see how he is dealt with by the courts.

Sorry to hear about your son he was lucky, the poor chap who was stabbed a few weeks back lives just 50 yards from the little thugs who attacked him neither one has been arrested as yet.

Exactly the same thing happened to my nephew about a year ago also in Boston Road near The Ride, Somalis on bikes - don't think the police were very interested then either.
