Brentford Festival

Isn't this going to clash rather with the Mela, which has been very low-key this year as regards publicity?Hope everyone is travelling on foot or by bus.

Thanks Jon. It's go to hear that Linda Massey and her team of Volunteers are receiving excellent feedback about the day.. it's such a colossal event to organise.And it's for the benefit of the Ealing and Brentford communities. Stallholders would have had a stream of visitors too. Great pictures, as ever, Jim. Made the mistake of going early and getting drenched! But still enjoyable and a great selection of stalls - not sure how the organisers manage to arrange such a variety!When I ventured into the walled garden, the singer, with unfortunate timing, was giving a very good version of 'Why does it always rain on me?'! Let's hope for the same enthusiasm next year and better weather!

Wasn't it sad see rain rain rain...Some stalls seem to given up halfway through the event but then good weather arrived ..more people arrived and wow!Here's a hastily grabbed shot of the dignatories starting their tour of the site.after the opening of the event in Boston manor House.Brentford Councillors Ruth Cadbury and Matt Hamer leading the way.. followed by the Mayors of Ealing and Hounslow.

I'm pretty certain that the Brentford Festival in Boston Manor Park is always held on the first Sunday of September. It's the Mela's date that moves around.So Linda Massey's massive event starts at Noon till 5.30pm and then you can stroll along to Gunnersbury Park for afters.You could always start the day doing the London Skyride on your bike after having been to early morning Service!

Can't see anything in your first posting, Hugh.The two festivals do seem very similar as well as being only about a mile apart. Poor planning somewhere along the line.
