Tea Party for Senior Citizens in Brentford

The Royal British Legion are holding a Tea Party for Senior Citizens at the Inverness Lodge on Thursday 15th September from 2pm until 5pm. Tickets are free and can be obtained by calling Sylvia on 0208 400 3796. There will be a free raffle and entertainment during the afternoon. Please tell your family, friends and neighbours. Hello all!I'm the very muddled reporter.Can i just apologise for all the confusion, I managed to get two tea parties in Hounslow mixed up.Despite the date not having happened yet, I still published it as if it had happened. Please accept my apologies and put it down to a very foggy headed monday.If anyone organising the event would like to give me a call on 07795645288, I would be more than happy to cover it in the paper, and send a photographer.Sorry again!

"The Brentford British Legion Tea Party has been hailed a great success by organisers who thanked the Chronicle for sponsorship of the raffle prizes,hampers and the rock band. First prize in the raffle was won by ticket number 275.Following high tea with cakes and champagnes supplied again by the Editorial Staff at the Chronicle...the senior citizens were entertained by the distinguished ex Mayor (and Freeman of the London Borough Of Hounslow) John Connelly who performed a highly spirited Come Dancing routine.(continued page 27)

Ah, correction... it's Sarah we thank for the announcementand it's Sylvia on 0208 400 3796 we phone for a booking.I've invited along a 92 year old local lass who served during the War and she is delighted at the prospect of attending on Thursday at 2pm.Sylvia says the search is still on to find locals who would like to join in the fun. The St Paul's Church Luncheon Club, Aged Concern, and the Sheltered Home in Clayponds Lane are being approached.  Do you know folk who ought to be invited?Sylvia clarified that the Inverness Club is now privately owned ..although it was was originally owned by the British Legion. Historians tell us that it was once the residence of the Duke of Cumberland.. not sure which one!  The Inverness Club has a fab ballroom with an ornate high ceiling. Have you seen it?The Brentford Branch of the British Legion still meets there. You don't have to be an old soldier to attend the Party... just look old!! The Mayor will be attending it is reported.So, can you swell the numbers?
