Sadly, it wasn't Brentfordians GALORE who attended... but thank you very much Linda for organising the Coffee Day which apparently raised over £200.We were treated to an excellent demonstration of some of the musical instruments...and the sight and sound of the Wurlitzer (recovered from the old Regal Cinema in Kingston) was special. The gentleman / volunteer who did the honours did a splendid job..and he was a great story teller and demonstrator. It seems that Brentford Dock Residents also had a Macmillan on the same morning ..and from the photos on Flickr it was very well attended. My brother has now entered a Hospice and my first visit last night was certainly not a morbid event. He was overwhelmed by the comfortable and immaculately clean facilities, the helpful and charming staff, having all his worries (pill management, food, personal hygiene, and advice matters) catered for. The hospice is financed 20% by the NHS ,the 80% by fundraising! What a good idea, open your home for a coffee morning and raise some money for a good cause like the local hospice or the Macmillan organisation.
