Hounslow Matters - but not a lot.

We received the latest copy of this waste of money today. In it there is a 'consultation' regarding the end of the provision of the Consumer Advice Service. Apart from the fact this is just appalling when we're all being ripped-off and may need advice at some point, and I know from experience how good this service is, the 'consultation' consists of three questions about your views on the service and a whole page of what I think is just politically correct b******s. Hounslow seem more interested in your age, religion(?) and ethnicity than the withdrawal of what has been an excellent and valuable service, what bloody relevance has any of that tripe? I don't need convincing that this magazine is wasteful, this farce merely confirms that. I shall be returning this form and you can be sure my opinion will be fully expressed at the end!!

It seems to me to be brilliant justification for dumping 'Hounslow Matters' as quickly as possible and saving a few bob. I wonder how many library books or consumer advisors that would buy?

I really struggle with how on earth your religion can possibly relate to a Consumer Advice Service, I hate political correctness and I'd like to hear the council justify this old rubbish, 3 questions about the service cuts, 6 questions of no relevance to the subject whatsoever - go figure. Aaaaaaaaaargh.

I think it's way past time our councillors got a grip  - what on earth are they doing? Officers will run wild if allowed to, as I used to say to some of them - you want to make policy? - then stand for election.

I've not the slightest doubt it will Vanessa.Sadly the magazine is important to Chief Officers as it helps them to set the agenda, and to publicise or bury areas of council policy and strategy according to their own set of priorities.
