Former Met Commander Ali Dizaei says he will get his job back.

Ali Dizaei spent a short period in jail last year for perverting the course of justice. If I remember correctly he owed some poor IT guy 300 pounds for work that he had done for him and when he accosted him coming out of a restaurant Mr Dazaei called police and had the poor chap arrested.It would seem that the Police Appeals Tribunal ruled yesterday that he should be reinstated this means that he automatically goes onto one hundred thousand pounds a year salary even though he has been booked for a re-trial next year. Is this right and fair!!Perhaps the Metropolitan Police Authority think otherwise because if this is fact then they will suspend him from duty whilst of course he earns 100k a year doing absolutely nothing except trying to get another quarter of a million pounds compensation. Disgraceful!!

Incidentally it was the 2 guys who made the complaint about the Firemen, if Dee & I had been doing what they were we would have been arrested and charged with Indecent Behaviour!

Dawn for your information I regularly sign petitions and involve my self in actions to support people such as the lady you mention, which I suspect is mor than you do.  Preferring as you do to fire off half cocked, half truths you Picked up from a thick persons paper.No the thousands of pounds worth of equipment was not plants or it wouldn't be called equipment.  Either way its irrelevant, I was actually just pointing out the disparity of law as I experience it and it had more to do with the right to home and family life as denied my family than anything else.Would it also be OK if it was a heterosexual couple doing the same thing.  What right did the fireman have to illuminate these people the right of the Peeping Tom perhaps,

You Mr Walsh are a man on a mission that mission being your right to grow marijuana, which is against the law, it is ludicrous that I can go into a hydroponic store to buy these seeds without being arrested although if I grow same seeds I am breaking the law. As for the kissing couple, do you not remember the 3 Firemen who were either dismissed or penalized because they saw 2 guy's doing what they certainly should not have been doing in public, those firemen's crime that they put their headlights on and wolf whistled, so you see people of your ilk will automatically put the Human Rights Act in place only when it is convenient to you.The thousands of pounds of property would not have been your home grown plants by chance would it.Half of this post has been about your upset with the law, boiled down it always comes back to you!Unfortunately the conflict will never ever be won in Afghanistan why? because 95% of the world Heroin comes from there, those drug lords are never ever going to let that go.Where was your outrage when a young woman was going to be whipped for driving a car in Saudi, your just like so many other's you choose for effect(your effect) your outrage should be pointed in this direction young girls are being forced to marry right here and now in this country, David Cameron is trying to do something about this dreadful action in the meantime girl's are still being bartered without any recourse.

Philip,I don't believe that Tessa May was wise in what she said.But the mere fact thet ownership of a cat was mentioned at all in the case is an indicator that people will clutch at straws and the Act indulges that attitude.Btw,every one has self interest,whether it be financial,political or anything else such as making one's reputation in the eyes of others.

Your opinion maybe; but unfortunately the truth behind some laws are not, nor are they fair and equal in there determination or implementation! Just as some of the augments against some laws are perpetrated by those with self interest who feed mis-information to those gullible enough to accept the statements of the likes of Tessa May, with out question.

I support rights for all people even policeman; I do not support the police in their abuse of power or people.  It is others that believe only some people should be allowed the right to home and family life!  Dawn you are unpatriotic and you are disgrace  to civilised  people. Kissing on a beach in a land where such actions are frowned upon was an act of stupidity by the couple involved and I believe it was more than a simple kiss of affection.  I suspect they may have found themselves up on a charge of lewd behaviour here in the UK.Whilst there have been a few questionable rulings that is a problem with the ruling not the law; there a thousands of cases which never get to the pages of the Mail,Standard or Telegraph because they are just and proper ruling and you cant undermine the reality of a law by showing any of its positive effect.As for the current wars; the war in Afghanistan was supposed to be about protecting the rights of the women of that country, rights not to be beaten for not following the strict laws of the Taliban.  Our current government is planning to give power back to the Taliban through power sharing, selling out the Human Rights of these people.  So please Dawn don't try to lecture people on subjects you seem unable to fully comprehend or prefer to ignore the facts of.As for Labour supporting Human Rights that is as laughable as claiming the CON-DEMS do Labour passed more laws restricting the right of the individual then any other government ever a point you seem to have made yourself Dawn.My own right and the rights of my partner and children have been withheld from us for the last 40 odd years; in the last 25 years alone my partners right to home and family life have been abused around 7 times with home invasions and the smashing up /destruction of property with no legal right.I currently have a complaint about the last home invasion where thousands of pounds of my property has been seized and destroyed without waiting for the court to decide if the right to do so exists, no receipt was given to make it almost impossible for me to claim compensation.  This was because I got £5,000 in compensation the last time it was done to me.  my wife and children have no rights and the home invasions from policemen acting as state terrorist goes on and on.  I support the Human Right Act because we in our house know what it is like to live without any!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We adopted the Human Rights Act in its entirety:“ All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood. ” I don't remember any outcry at the time by anyone, I don't think anyone thinks it is perfect. The couple in Dubai were violating the law that applied there, antiquated to us maybe, but their law nevertheless, and sod all to do with the Human Rights Act here. It will be interesting to see if and how Cameron reckons he is going to tweak it. And Philip is right, Teresa May is a plonker - a government minister repeating rubbish printed in a paper, she should at least get her facts right before playing to the gallery of braying, twin set wearing Tories. What an abomination they were.

Do you realise that we as a nation have paid 13 Terrorists over 15 Million Pounds in compensation in the last few years, even as I write this we have an illegal immigrant cleric who is claiming compensation against us for our Security Services having held for a period of 2 days, do you agree with this kind of action. He came into our country to ferment not to placate.Article 8 is manipulated by illegal felons and disgracefully Judges who should know better bypass our laws to enable them to stay. What are your feelings about the couple who were kissing on a beach in Dubai and were arrested obviously that is okay. Any illegal immigrant who arrives here should straight away be put back on the next available flight back to whence they came, we have enough home grown felons without importing them ours at least get punished not compensated.

I think the general feeling Philip is that the Human Rights Act is far too open to abuse and has been used by scum and scoundrels to avoid responsibility for their actions.It is by no means a bad idea and indeed was brought in in the late 40's to try to enshrine these rights in law to avoid the repeat of the persecution and genocide of WW2.It is Article 8 which is causing justifiable frustration and annoyance.For example when someone who has killed a person then claims the right to a family life when they have denied the person they killed any life and have sentenced that person's family to a life of misery and sadness.If we are to have rights,they are meaningless without responsibilities.Currently it is an offenders charter to avoid the full consequence of their actions.

Ken Clarke was spot on to humiliate Teresa May. The women is an idiot, making up rubbish in order to destroy the Human Rights Act for British people.  The attempts to claim that the Human rights act is a European idea forced upon us is a disgusting lie and an insult to all who died in the two world wars.The British wrote the Human rights act to guarantee the same basic rights for all man(woman)kind as a way of underlining just how wrong the acts perpetrated by the Nazi's and the treatment of prisoners by the Japanese were.  We the British brought it to the United Nations and onto the world stage but never ratified it into British law.  We the British used it to lambaste the Soviet Union and its allied states  right up to the point of the collapse in communism.  We the British used it to point the finger at just about every third world nation for nearly 40 years.  The EU Human Rights Act is the same act almost identical in its wording; they are our rights and it is our right the government wants to limit not the rights of 'johnny Foreigner'.  I for one am sick to the back teeth of idiot Britons insulting the dead of the two world wars who's sacrifices to stop the abuse of life that preceded and as such created the need for this act.  It is unpatriotic and ignorant of the true facts surrounding this law. The people who spout this rubbish and those that put it in their newspapers (scare rags)are the same people who claim China is more democratic that is was a decade ago (the young  man who lay in front of the tanks in Tinamun square is still in jail) they are the same people who consider China a 'new model for democracy'  If these people have their way our great grandchildren will be working in sweat shops and locked away for ever if they show any dissent.

Why??? do you always infer that I am a racist, is it incomprehensible to you that I would and do make the same noise irrespective of colour.The "alleged victim" although the poor chap was plastered all over the TV,obviously had the temerity to request payment from Mr Dizaei for work that he had done for him silly man. Because of this he was arrested quite obviously investigated to have been found out to not be from the country he said that he was from also that he has a different age, does this mean that he is here illegally if this is the case then why on earth was he not found out on entering our country. Where did you get this info from I haven't seen it in the papers or on TV.Perhaps if Mr Dizaei had paid his bill this chap would not have committed the alleged benefit fraud!!! As you say he is innocent until proved guilty.Judges have an awful lot to answer for, they manipulate Article 8 to suit themselves and to get a few minutes TV coverage. You only have to look at Ken Clarke trying so very hard to humiliate Theresa May on her speech, in the end he was the one made to look imbecilic, no wonder we have Judges that make ridiculous rulings what can we expect with him as Justice Secretary. Time to put him out to grass.

Dawn, it was the judge who upheld Dizaei's appeal who described the alleged victim as not being a credible witness. You repeat the allegation as fact when, in reality, it has yet to be reconsidered by a jury.The alleged victim is said to be from a different country than the one he claims to come from and he is said to be a different age than he claims to be. He is currently due to go on trial for benefit fraud, though he is clearly innocent until proved guilty.Dizaei will be retried. Until then there is no justification to assume he is guilty of anything.Keith, I am happy to accept that some may have regarded me as an arrogant and smug councillor. However, that is no basis for assuming that I should spend time in prison whether or not I had committed any offence. For Dawn's benefit in considering my case I am white,  UK born, and therefore probably entitled to be considered innocent until proven guilty in your eyes.

Wait one moment, Ali Dizaei had work done by an Indian Computer Expert and then refused to pay him the 300 pounds due to him, when the chap fronted him as he was coming out of a restaurant in Soho Ali Dizaei held him by the throat and called for police to arrest him, was that fair was that legal do you not expect to be paid for doing work. No one but no one should be able to utilize their position of power to avoid paying a debt.How on earth do you know that the poor guy who was taken to court was not "a creditable witness" you just do not get it do you, it does not matter what colour you are providing you do not expect or get preferential treatment, the law is there for each and everyone of us and needs to be adhered to by one and all. Compensation should be paid to the guy he falsely had arrested! you make me sick.

Ali Dizaei, as Hounslow's Borough Commander, was someone I regarded as smug and arrogant. However, I can say the same about a number of other senior Met officers I came into contact with over the years when I was a councillor. The key difference between Dizaei and the others is that he is not white.He was arrested, imprisoned, and released after 15 months in prison after it was revealed that his accusor was not a creditable witness.You say he is corrupt, Dawn, but provide no evidence. Can you indicate where this exists? Of course you can't. That means that your post is libellous and if Ali Dizaei is cleared in his retrial he will be able to sue you for making a false statement on this website.I am no believer in the English system of "justice". However, the norm is that you are innocent until proved guilty. Like the police officer who actions lead to the death of Ian Tomlinson in the City of London a couple of years ago Ali Dizaei is entitled to full pay when under suspension. If he is found not guilty in his retrial he will also be entitled to compensation for time spent wrongly in prison.Is he not entitled to the same treatment as the alleged killer of Ian Tomlinson then, Dawn? Or is it different if you are not white?

That man had had dodgy stamped all over him since the day he joined the force. He has trodden on , used and abused the system, courted controversy  to his advantage until the bubble burst. Take away all that and his real police achievements are little better than that of a PCSO. He is more in the mould of an unscrupulous politician than  an honourable and diligent police officer.He is not the only one either. Yet the double standards in the Met are mind boggling. First rate officers with great records get used by politicians and the media and brought down without real justification. Yeats for example, standing alone against bullying politicians and media giants and yet stitched up and resigns with honour. But a police officer who worked his way up by his record not by seminars, course and contact networking.But this one, greedy, political and without honour just shows how his motives are all about money.
