Another accident on A4

The road eastbound outside GSK was shut today for around 2 hours whilst somebody was cut out of their car.  I hope there weren't any serious injuries.It seems like every other week there is an accident on this stretch of road, often fatal.How can we make it safer?

The police gave up talking about 'accidents' long ago as it's invariably driver error.A way to make all roads safer would be to ban careless and reckless drivers for long periods and make them retake their tests before they get their licence back.

Sorry to hear of yet another accident on the Great West Road.. along which too many people have been killed or injured.I did see the damaged car at about 1.30pm on that Thursday as I was passing by on an H91 bus. The small black coloured car was parked eastbound at the canal bridge ..just after the junction with Transport Avenue..and one could see that the cutters had been used.Fast moving cars driving London- bound down the hill from Gillette Corner are no fun.(and need to be slowed down).especially when one is trying to leave the Nat West Bank car park, worse still the PC World "Estate" exit. Drivers have to bend their necks to an awkward angle to see what coming..and bright sunshine to the west just adds to the headache.I think the PC World exit should be examined for that reason. Vehicles currently exit there at risk! and also may even be the cause of frights to those charging down the hill!Sky TV must be happy though.... that traffic lights have now been installed at the Harlequin Avenue/ GWR junction to enable busy traffic associated with the Olympic Games to have safer access and exit from their expanding site. You've no doubt seen the new studio building.
