Volunteers Needed for Christmas Market

It's the Italian Market and Christmas Lights event in Market Place next Friday and Saturday.  This event is going to be fantastic with live music, Santa's Grotto, Food and Drink, Various Stalls, Fire Dancers etc, etc.  We are looking for some volunteers to help set up on Friday morning, steward the event and take down on Saturday evening.  Please come and help if you have some time to spare. Great picture of the display sign Lydia.I thought the "Brentford is Brilliant" sign looked splendid as one was passing in front of the new Kew Bridge Development and approaching the Steam Museum area. A great welcome sign and a reminder to all..both residents and visitors..If only some extra funds were available to have "Brentford is Brilliant" displayed along the Great West Road from Gillette Corner on the way into London...to the Chiswick Flyover. All those magnificent buildings are indeed in TW8 and passers by need to be reminded.Sock it to them!

The market was great though I'm not sure how Italian it was - other than the flags and the Weir serving up lasagne!Well done to all involved - I got myself a couple of "Brentford is Brilliant" keyrings & I'm hoping there will be some more at the next market as everyone I have shown them to wants one!  Great Christmas lights too.

There are some pictures via the Brentford Dock Residents' Flickr website (thanks Hans).It looked a substantial event for Brentford High Street with stalls not just in the Market Place..but along the road towards Goddards as well.It was certainly a chance to meet familiar faces..and very well done to Julia and her team for all that effort.So, the Christmas lights are on.I was sad to see the "Closing Down Sale" in the window of the Artists Materials Shop in Market Place.

FLAMEOZ FIRE_SHOW on Friday at 5pm and again at 7.45. Dance, juggling and pyrotechnics. Should be spectacular.
