Strange values indeed..

When a doctor can be awarded £4.5m for having been treated very badly by her employer and suffering severe stress.Fair enough,you may or may not say,but consider that this : it is about 8 times what you get for having your arms and legs blown off by an IED.

"This woman will never practise again".Well,we have yet to find that out.I remember that in the same week,about 12 years ago,that the surviving prisoners from the Burma railway(or their surviving widows)were awarded £10,000 compensation,a woman was awarded £200k for having an indecent suggestion made to her at work and for having been sexually harassed.I don't for one minute condone the behaviour toward her,but our sense of perspective as a society is away with the fairies.

She was treated abominably no two ways about it, but I agree that some perspective needs to apply to compensation cases. This woman will never pratice again either. What irritates the hell out of me is that none of the so-called managers will lose their jobs for letting someone be treated like this, and the money being bandied about is public money from our NHS. Did the hospital trust not take legal advice? What a bunch of nasty morons.
