Ooh-aah, Eric to depose Sarkozy?

It would seem none other than Eric Cantona will be throwing his hat into the ring for the French presidency:http://tiny.cc/xe3lxHis aim in entering the race is to draw attention to housing poverty in France, but that would not appear to have dissuaded the Socialist candidate from attacking his decision to run.  In France, as in the UK, there would seem to be those who regard the political process as a closed shop.Good luck to the man I say.

I just loved the bit where he thinks contraception should be rationed???? Who would decide that one, you'd think that the President of the USA would have more pressing matters to attend to really. Tony Blair tried to 'bang on about God' and was promptly slapped down by Alastair Campbell. I imagine that the separation of church and state is one thing the loonies would like to change.I think my favourite loony at the moment is Santorum who wants to make all sexual activity which is not within marriage and for the purpose of procreation illegal. Please God, let the discarded mistress turn up!

That's the upside, it's Obama's to lose judging by the shenanigans in the Republican party. I am constantly amazed how they mix religion and politics in the U.S. when they have a Constitution separating Church and State. I would think that here where we have no such separation, any politician that went banging on about God like some of those weirdos would be dead in the water before you could blink.

Looking at the USA Republican party race for the presidential candidacy, I think perhaps for us to nobble Eric all for ourselves would be very selfish. What a bunch of loonies, God help us all if any of these nutcases actually get elected. Their need is greater than ours!

Let's not go overboard about this. Most football players in my estimation do what they are most suited to, I'm not sure intellectual pursuits are their forte. On the other hand, and thinking about it, what the hell have we got now?

You beat me to it - it occurred to me that the Labour party could ditch Ed and have Eric as Leader instead. He has been quoted as saying he feels more English than French, become a British citizen and Bob's your uncle. Definitely Ooh-aah, or even Ooh la-la. Eat your heart out Cameron!!!!!!!!
