Bye-Bye Bendy?

According to a friend and fellow ICG member, who is also in the Conservative Party and received a bulletin yesterday afternoon, supporters of Boris Johnson's effort to be re-elected as Mayor of London will be running a street stall in Chiswick this Saturday morning in support of their man.Fair play to them, but is it usual for the parties to be actively campaigning so early for the London elections?  I'm afraid my addled memory doesn't take me back four years so I was wondering whether the forum politicos might be able to help me out here?No point to make, just curious.

Hammersmith and Fulham planning committee passed - against massive opposition  - a huge development that will see the Town Hall go, along with the cinema and existing housing. This to be replaced with 300 luxury homes with NO affordable element and a supermarket and tower blocks of 10 and 15 storeys. To the rescue one BoJo who says this would breach the Mayor's London Plan on 44 counts. Amazingly just two weeks after passing this monstrosity H&F 'persuaded' the developers to withdraw the plans "until further notice". Is there an election in the offing you may ask? Or is this really BoJo using what passes for his brain? What are the odds that if BoJo should win in May this development, which remember has been given permission already, suddenly gets resubmitted??? Of course he's throwing money around do you really think we are that dim?
