Not about Cameron, Clegg or anyone else!!

Following on from the thought that we should have some respite from the endless prattle about how wonderful Dodgy Dave is, I suggest we have a sort of Room 101 thread, where we can have a rant and dispose of the things that get on our nerves. For the reasons of keeping politics out of this can we assume all politicians are already in Room 101?

People who say things such as " I was like gettin' on the bus yeah and this bloke was like lookin' at me yeah" and kids who talk in a cod Jamaican accent when the nearest they have been to the Caribbean is eating a slice of Jamaican ginger cake now and then.

I made a cup of tea for a woman at work a while ago and she described it as 'awsome'...I assured her it was not but that the view from the top of Everest was,or the sight of a million wildebeest charging across the velt or the sight of a couple of blue whales surging out of the ocean could also be described as 'awesome'.But not a cup of tea.I think she thinks I am a cranky old fart.

Continuing on the cyclist theme - what about the ones all dolled up in their lycra and spandex that insist on ignoring the (very expensive) cycle path to do 5 mph on the A4? Don't worry about the 10 car pile up caused by people slamming their breaks on or swerving to avoid you.Or the ones that do use the cycle path but pay no attention to the light systems and just shoot across oncoming traffic and pedestrians. Windmill road is a prime example of this.And like you say Keith, it's never the cyclists' fault.I could go on and on with this bunch :)

At least you'd give us a laugh - spoilsport......Room 101 - I agree with Claire, what about those cyclists who pull up on the inside lane at traffic signals and bang on your car roof, (that's when they actually take any notice of the traffic lights) I just want to punch THEIR  lights out!

If this was the Chiswick site they'd be on you like a hungry Rottweiller for that Claire! My experience is that they nearly hit me sometimes rather than the other way round,with their wobbling and swerving and unsignalled turning.Best to give them more room than you would a bus.I resent the assumption that if you are in a collision with a cyclist that the motorist is always at fault.Each incident should be taken on its merits.Room 101 young(usually) women who have beach ball bellies wearing t-shirts that show it off as if they are proud of being fat.I have a beer belly,hard earned and deserved at my age, but I wouldn't subject my fellow citizens to the sight of it wobbling down the high st.

Cyclists.No test. insurance, road tax or registration but a severely superior attitude because they're 'green'. Nearly hit 2 last week as they wobbled their way through the High Street and witnessed one today (who clearly wasn't the full shilling) giving 2 fingers to every car that passed him at a junction. This included an ambulance.

People bawling at the silliest and slightest thing (see Masterchef), people having a 'vision' or a 'mission'. Prats with headphones in for either iPods or mobiles who meander out into oncoming traffic. Grrrrrrr!

That I would LOVE to have seen Phil.Room 101 ? 'Reality TV' in all its forms and anything with a pointless celebrity on it.People saying 'Can I get?' as opposed to 'May I please have?'

We used to have a bloke in a Merc who would park right beneath our balcony in the early morning (on a yellow line, naturally) and blast the whole estate while his other half ran the sprog across to the school.  For extra effect he always had the sunroof wide open, even during the winter.  One day a bucket of water was found to be the perfect remedy.

Good idea Vanessa, but don't get me started !To kick off I would put all the berks who drive around with music blaring out of their cars into room 101.They seem to think we all want to listen to their rubbish music (it's ALWAYS rubbish) whilst going about our daily business.It's the noise equivalent of farting in a lift imo.Unpleasnt,anti-social and unavoidable if you are on the receiving end.
