Network Rail Bonuses designed by Labour in 2008!!!

In 2008 Labour designed a system whereby ministers have no powers to block Network Rail executive pay which in 2008 saw bonuses of over £500,000 pounds given out to the chief executive even though there were serious failures.Justine Greening the Transport Secretary said"These latest bonus proposals are unacceptable"When you consider that we pay 10 times more in fares then anywhere else in Europe, Network Rail when they meet later this month to approve proposals to give 6 senior executives bonuses potentially worth 60% of their annual salary should do the right thing and veto the bonuses.Their bonus system is subject to the approval of Network Rails 120 members,who are largely drawn from the rail industry.

Perhaps she was saying that Labour introduced these rulings and then had the bloody cheek to try and put the blame on the government, they are very good at that.If Labour has it's way, then workers doing an every day job will no longer be awarded a yearly bonus,a precedent will have occurred and then there will be an almighty outcry that yearly bonuses have gone. And of course Labour will have had nothing to do with it!!!

No government could ever afford to re-nationalise what Thatcher privatised. Look at what it cost us to bail out the banks, and now the government have seen fit to sell off Northern Rock at a cut price, the taxpayer loses again.

Ed Miliband should have started on Capitalism having looked his father was a Marxist Intellectual.Lets all just remember how it was with a united USSR the politicians lived in mansions and drove Mercedes whilst the people dug holes.Whether we like it or not we need Private Bankers and Businesses and if they earn good money for the UK then give them a bonus.Will Ed Miliband give up on his expenses for the sake of us,did you just see that Cow fly by!!!

I suppose we can assume that in 13 years Labour did not choose to re-nationalise the railways that Blair was showing his Thatcherite side.

It seems that although the old Handbagger gave away our railways and broke them up to boot, they also enjoy a subsidy from the public purse - nice work if you can get it? They are to all intents and purposes private companies. Good Luck with explaining that to Dawn, for her the Bully Boys can do no wrong!

Yes but what I meant was that all of British Rail used to be nationalized and it wasn't Labour that de-nationalized it.  In this instance Cameron is right,(reward for success nothing for failure),shall we ask him to start with the bankers?

Apparently this one isn't privatized,it doesn't even have a board,it has just over 120 members whatever that means plus it costs us 4 billion a year in subsidiaries.As David Cameron says reward for success nothing for failure.
