It is time to say NO! to the ECHR they can no longer dictate to us!!!

The time has come when a resounding No! by David Cameron to the European Courts of Human Rights is needed, we the people did not give them the right to reverse rulings made by our courts.Abu Qatada once described as Bin Laden's right hand man in Europe, will be freed on bail whilst he fight's against being extradited to Jordan at the taxpayers expense, he will also be able to claim £1000 per month social benefits,he will obviously claim more because he has 5 children. We will also have to pay £500,000 per year for his security surveillance. European Courts are continuing their erosion of our Sovereignty time to take back our powers.

Then we must come out as you say we were promised by David Cameron,however Nick Clegg who is a Fanatical Europhile keeps putting the block on. They must both understand that the Coalition is only acceptable providing they look after our interests.This is not happening!We need our POWERS back now, after all what is it 47 years since the last vote, if government cannot take the decision to deport terrorists, then give we the people a Referendum!!

You can't suspend agreement to law in order to pick and chose, it makes a mockery of everything. Signing up to this law in its totality was an incredibly stupid thing to do (and something that most of Europe chose not to do) but we did. So we're either in or we're out. Cameron said we would be out but it's been nearly 2 years and he's being butt fu**ed by the Lib Dems in order to keep power that the people of the Nation did not give him. You're a fan Dawn. Focus your anger on him not on the judges that have applied the law.

It is so wrong any scumbag can enter our country and murder and rape at will, just like the Lithuanian the other week who murdered a man and his wife he should never have been given entry into our country in the first place when you consider he had served time for GBH.David Cameron has to get his finger out and show some backbone by taking back these powers that are abused on a daily basis.The HRA can and is manipulated on a daily basis by so called refugees who have the audacity to go back to their home countries for a holiday, how bad is that. We are made to be a soft touch, yet we citizens abide by our laws, these others laugh in our faces!!!

Because American jails (other than death row) have not been found, legally, to breach Articles 2 or 3 of the HRA. The computer hacker case may be found differently due to the extenuating circumstances of his mental health and the subsequent impact and that is something that I'm sure will be argued.Jordan promising not to torture obviously did not persuade the judges and I suspect this was down to a large amount of objective and expert evidence demonstrating otherwise. It is simple. We are signed up to something that says we will not return / deport people to a country where their HRs will be breached. That cannot be applied as and when the Govt. likes depending on how they feel about an individual.

Jordan has said that he would not be tortured just jailed. What I can't understand is that at the moment there is more than a possibility that an autistic computer genius will be extradited to the US, OK the government do not torture but being sent to prison out there is worse than torture, the poor lad will be raped many times during the day and night.So why? is it right for him to be extradited and this scumbag kept here in safety and comfort!

Because, like it or not, we are signed up to the HRA in full and that means we cannot send someone back to a country where there is a real risk of them being tortured or killed (Articles 2 & 3). We argued that he wouldn't subjected to such treatment but Judges didn't accept that argument on the basis of evidence before them and therefore we are not allowed to deport him. They have applied the law. As big a scumbag this man may be, no Govt. can start ignoring laws they have adopted just because they don't like someone. There is the option of opting out of the HRA, which is something Cameron was bounding about as an election promise but so far he's not had the balls to do that so there's nothing anyone can do. On the plus side, the cost of surveillance is probably cheaper than the cost of his incarceration and likely unlawful detention compensation claim.

The European Court did not decide his release, an Independent Immigration and Asylum Judge did. Whether he is scum or not he has been in jail for 6 years without charge and cannot be deported. Criteria for detention is quite strict and in this case the only argument could have been conducive to public good. However, after 6 years the Govt. would legally need to show more, which obviously they cannot do. I hate the Human Rights Act and how it seems to be applied by Judges IN THIS COUNTRY but your anger at this man's release is misdirected.
