I don't know about anyone else but this case had a very strange whiff about it and just didn't seem to stack up. Even my hubby who barely knows who Harry Redknapp is said he thought it looked like he was being set-up. Pity HMRC don' pursue Vodaphone and co. with such diligence.

I remember Harry saying exactly the same things about his loyalty to Portsmouth just before he left them for Spurs.

Could Mick McCarthy now be in the frame after he was sacked by Wolves? I really like Harry, and have said for a long time he should be England manager, but if his loyalty is to Spurs then the FA need to make a quick decision. For me Warnock!

8 Million Pounds spent by HMRC to bring Harry to court for what! tax on 200K, absolute rubbish, criminal even when not so long ago 10 Million tax was written off for a very famous world wide company situated mainly in New York!

Not sure about Harry being set up. Obviously not such a bad businessman if he can persuade local authorities to forego much needed affordable housing in a development. In this house (although I love Harry's cheeky chappie demeanour) the money is on Roy Hodgson

Apparently a small dog called Rosie has just but a 189k bet on 'Arry getting the job.

Wasn't it Glenn's unlikely foray into Buddhist thinking that did for him?
Phil Andrews ● 5196d
God didn't help Glenn Hoddle when he was in charge, so I don't think Jesus is the answer.English fans may find more peace, acceptance and enlightenment if Buddah was in charge. The food would be better too.

This was supposed to go in after Vanessa saying - I don't know whether or not he'd be a good choice, but I wouldn't want to have to bother with the old farts of the F.A. Who needs that sort of grief? I have a feeling that Harry will not want to let Spurs down, wouldn't some old fashioned loyalty be nice just for once.Roget has his own Thesaurus - and I would so love to draw up a dictionary for Vanessa! You make me smile! :-)

Not strictly true Keith, allegedly Lord Jesus died about 2,000 years ago, woke up, escaped from a cave and went to heaven. Even his supposed miracles wouldn't see England winning the World Cup!

Our Lord Jesus could get thre job and England would still be what they are...in the second teir of international football.

Whilst I like Harry and have said for a long time that he would be good for the job there's someone else who is a proven manager in getting the best out of underperforming teams, and he's not working at the moment. Bring on Mr. Warnock I say!
I think the fact that he could buy off a local authority on a housing development says more to his character than the politicians. So much for affordable housing!!!Harry would take the job for pride and probably do well. The FA is bent, he's been aquitted of being bent. What a lovely time we could have. I personally think Martin O'Neil but the FA couldn't cope with him so bring on 'Arry and let the good times begin.

No, but I wouldn't mind betting (npi) that some kind, generous soul somewhere is talking up his chances to create a more attractive lay price, as indeed occurred when he flew up to Newcastle especially to decline the job he was offered there and the odds of him taking the job fell to odds-on within the space of an hour.Keith - I got about 6/4 at Betfair.

As a multi-millionaire property developer able to pay a local authority £600,000 to avoid including social housing in a large property development he controls, does weak-heart Harry need the aggravation of the England job, even if there is £6 million a year on offer?

He is not a good choice and would be mad to leave the good thing he has at Spurs imo.Good luck with the bet Phil.Wghat odds did you get?
Just had a small wager on Harry NOT to be the next England manager. I personally would like to see him get the job but I don't think the FA would take the chance.Could be wrong of course...
