WHY! do the BBC receive 4 Million Pounds per year from the EU!!!

Could this be the reason that we are not updated on the woes of Europe,have any of us seen that certain staff in Frankfurt Airport are on strike for a 6.5% pay rise, or that many thousands of people are demonstrating today in Spain because of austerity measures.I always knew that the BBC were biased I just didn't realise that they got paid for it, and before you ask I heard it on the Euro News.

Dawnnice to see you back. I'm still not sure what your point is. I presume the BBC get money from sources other than the UK because - as I said previously - they provide a World Wide Service.As for me asking previously why you are concerned (which I don't believe I did), I think you'll find the links provided actually showed that the BBC DID report on the issues to which you referred so there is coverage of the EU. In fact, go on their website and the news is actually broken down into UK, Europe and World.

Do you not wonder why the BBC receive 4 Million Pounds per year from the EU. I have stopped looking at the BBC News purely because it is less informative then other channels.  In a previous post you ask why I should feel concerned because we do not receive any EU News from either of our main news channels, well are we not supposedly a part of the 27 countries of the EU consequently I strongly believe that we should be updated on a daily basis of what is happening within the European Community.We are after all ruled by the EU we therefore need to be made aware of what actually occurs within the 27. You are just counting coup! of course I do not blame the BBC for putting our Nation into a WAR that cannot be won.

WTF does any of that have to do with the BBC receiving money from Europe?Are you saying that if Russia & China were to give more money to the BBC they'd give more coverage to Europe????If you want to criticise the BBC for their poor coverage of Syria then do that. As for the troops looking forward to nothing but redundancy, I really don't think you can blame the BBC. Maybe Cameron and his cuts but not the BBC.Seriously, your reasoning has about 5 issues rolled into 1 mishmash of a topic and it makes no sense. Spelling and diction are the least of my worries on this one.

I criticize the BBC only because we are being pushed by them into taking action against Syria, anytime I change to them it is always about either Iran(Persia) or Syria, you will not agree however I firmly believe that the Arab League should do something constructive.Not us.China & Russia are very powerful countries if they were to voice concern then the problems would disappear overnight.Our own forces are dying on a daily basis in Afghanistan,a war that should never have happened and for what, only for the drug trade to continue.All our troops have to look forward to when they come home is redundancy.Any advice on the spelling & diction is greatly appreciated.

Possibly, because the BBC has a World Wide service which many other countries don't have. They provide a service, they get paid. As for Frankfurt striking. They are in the one country in Europe that actually has money. Spain does not. So what did you want to see? People with money want more.
