Pesky power cuts

These power cuts seem to be happening more frequently.Our power has gone off several times over night (on at the moment) but my neighbour who is on oxygen powered by electricity, is still cut off.  Her Link line emergency call machine has back up batteries and a 24 hour team ready to respond.  Wonderful service!

I found my cooker timer needed to be reset, my central heating timer had lost about an hour and my slumber had been disturbed by some alrms (house ? car ?) going off.My son reported that the power had gone off shortly after 11 and the extent of the black-out (as viewed from the loft) was quite impressive with only West Mid Hospital powered up locally.

It's just a side effect of using a power monitor to see how much electricity we use.

My bedside light flickered just about half eleven for a couple of seconds last night and I noticed it had completely thrown my electric alarm which was flashing on and off so I had to reset it. However, my husband's electric alarm on the other side of the bed was fine as were my sons, my clock is plugged in on another point to the lights and other clock - weird or what? Nothing else in the house seems to have been affected at all.

Which bit of Brentford? We had one serious brownout and some small dips overnight (I monitor the power, don't ask why...). Last year we had a series of power cuts with increasing regularity, always preceeded by dips. Turned out it was the cable feeding a single house on our road (up by the station).
