Bradford result shows people are looking for a real alternative

Whether you like Galloway or not is immaterial, the message behind this result (specific Bradford factors notwithstanding) is that the public wants the present government out but has no appetite for replacing it with Labour.I can't see the Respect Party forming a government anytime soon, but the underlying message from the voters should give real hope to those of us who want to see really meaningful change.

I think after the way that local councils, this one in particular have behaved towards their own constitiuents, it will be similar here.The whiff of corruption and/or pure incompetence at Hounslow is more of a stench and residents are waking up to it.The sooner independents stand and represent the interests of existing local people and listen to them the better.Party politics over common sense.  A maximum two consecutive terms per councillor would be a good thing too and for MP's. And no way should a novice chair anything.
