My point was more about how people appear to have lost the ability to think for themselves over the last 15 years rather than what services are / are not available. The news every day is full of what is going to kill us next. Don't go out in the sun because you'll get skin cancer but if you don't go in the sun you'll have a vitamin deficiency which will result in death. Don't eat salt, sugar, bacon, trans fats, saturated fats, water is good but too much will kill you as will all things red meat and if you drink more than the recommended units of alcohol you will die. If you fall over, it is almost certainly somebody else's fault and Health & Safety will ban fun of all kinds because they know what is best for everyone and egg and spoon races are clearly a disaster waiting to happen but this is nothing compared to the massive death toll that will obviously ensue with pancake races. We have been spoon fed for so long what to do and what not to do that people seem to be losing the ability to think for themselves or apply any common sense.
