I think I can top this list – have just been reading through Charles Wesley’s journals (the Methodist man), and discovered something I’d never come across before: “Mon., June 17th. I preached at Brentford in our way to Bristol. The moment our Society met, Jesus appeared in the midst, and we lay an happy hour, weeping and rejoicing, at his feet.”Wesley visited Brentford a number of times on his travels thereafter, but apparently Jesus only joined him here that once.
