Magistrates Court

I passed by the morning - the fencing has been taken down from around the car park in front and workmen are now clearing up the ragged edges of the site.Where can I find out what the plans are for the building and the site?

I saw this too yesterday and when I asked the chap what the plans were, he and his friend didn't understand English.  I could see the Court doors were open, what a shame I couldn't find out the plans!

Apparently it is to be 'an eaterie' on the ground floor with homes above.

The smell of chips and the sound of people arriving and leaving late at night when you are trying to kip. All for about £350 k I shouldn't wonder.

I expected to be able to see an application on the Hounslow "search planning applications" website - but I couldn't find anything under the postcode for the Magistrates Court or under Market Place, Brentford (where there are quite a few entries for The Weir, Bowman House and the plot of land that touches Tallow Road).Adam may tell us that you don't need permission to demolish the fence and erect builders hoarding around the property ?

Yep. Why is that. I did the search as well = nothing.What is going on? Surely an application is neded for a change of use. Doh! Court facility to retail food outlet.Hounslow Council info = 0

There is a very comprehensive exhibition of all future plans for Brentford on right now in St Paul's church.  I am not sure how much longer it is on for but organised by Quilliams I think with architects there to answer questions.

Tim,In terms of the hoarding, it depends on the height of it and its location - up to 2 metres high not adjacent to a highway, or up to 1 metre high adjacent to a highway, would constitute permitted development.  There is a different Class of permitted development which could be used to allow a larger hoarding to be erected, but only if planning permission had been granted for operations at the site, which does not seem to be the case.No planning permission required to demolish/remove an existing fence.  Listed Building Consent could arguably however be required.
