London Olympic Games 1948 ; Brentford Football Ground used?

I have one of those old LONDON TRANSPORT bus/train maps.It unfolds to A2 size. It was a special edition issued for the Wembley Olympic Games in 1948.When the map is opened out, the centre spread lists VENUES OTHER THAN WEMBLEY that visitors may wish to visit... and gives details of how to get to Harringay Arena, Herne Hill Cycle track, Empress Hall Earls Court..and several football grounds including Brentford.Chiswick Polytechnic Grounds in Hartington Road is listed too and Ian Wylie on the Chiswick Forum suggests that the Poly was used for pre-Games trials ..or warmong up etc.So: was Griffin Park used for some activity?

Listening on the wireless (!) and reading the newspapers of the day (News Chronicle) I call only remember the name Fanny blankers Koon..excuse the spelling!We still have the Special Underground Map for the 1948 Olympics ..and thats where I first saw the mention that Brentford Football Ground ..Griffin Park..had been used for Olympic matches.  Jennifer, in the message above, gave details of one game.
