Long Case Clock Repair

Hi, I have a clock made c.1921 in need of service/repair. Always called a Grandmother clock in the family. It has two pendulum weights and chimes. Or it did until we moved 18yrs ago! Can anyone recommend a firm I can entrust it to? Many thanks in advance for any suggestions. Google suggested one in W5, 'The Clock Gallery'. Anyone used them?

Thanks Jim, you are the second person to recommend Oscars. To Ian and co feel free to carry on with Lead casting etc. Always interesting to see what niche small business can provide. I am amazed at what people can produce in their garden shed. There are two examples of 'step by step' guides as to how to make a high quality fly reel from scratch on line......Links provided on request!

Ian,A mate of mine works in a small almost Dickensian workshop at the Uxbridge Rd end of St.Stephen's Rd in they smelt lead there in order to make sah weighs etc.They may be able to cast brass for you.I'm not sure what the place is called but it is on the right hand side as you look down St.Stephen's Rd about 25yds down.

Jim, you are an absolute mine of information, so.....Do you happen to know of anyone locally who a)casts brass or b)machines metals, like model engineering?All the small shops have gone and I think it only survives in garden sheds now.I'd love to trace some of this rare breed who did metalwork at school, I didn't unfortunately.Many thanks
