Any chance a local landlord could be persuaded to stock some delicious gluten-free ale(s)?

Hambleton and St Peter's make them, and there are lovely traditional strong Belgians by Daas. Green's make a whole range of gf beers. They're suitable for people who need to avoid gluten for medical reasons, but if you get bloating/indigestion from beer, gf ale could be the answer. And they're delicious! And I would be a regular at any pub where I could buy a gf pint. (But don't let that put you off.)Cheers...

Got a few bottles from Tesco's last time I was over. I just didn't like the taste. In OZ we have O'Brians GF beer. The lager is ok but again the lae is not nice. I think I may be a bit picky as i always drank real ale and miss it a lot.

Neil, I haven't tried the St Peter's but I've just bought a sample pack of ales from the Gluten Free Shop (www.gluten-freeshop.co.uk) so I'm looking forward to trying them. What was it that you didn't like about the Hambleton's? It is the most accessible brand for me (I can get it at the supermarket) so it's the one I tend to have in the house.Daas makes a nice change, though I prefer an English bitter.

Hi KeithBack in Oz, I was in the UK in April. Only very briefly in Brentford. I used to drink James Squires before I had to stop drinking beer (gluten). Didn't like Barons much. Even in Aus I would mainly drink English bottled beer

Neil,Are you still in Aus.? If so, have you tried James Squire's bottled English style summer and amber beers and Little Creatures pale ale? Barons do a couple of good ones.Wattle beer in particular.All are pretty good imo.

So do I. Haven't had a pint of real ale for 18months. Now drink cider, mainly Westons. I tried the Hambleton bottled beers wasn't that impressed, haven't yet tried the St. Peters

Hi Holly, I'm Noel's partner Emma.  I spoke with Noel re your comment about gluten-free beer and he made some enquiries.  There are a couple of free samples of Estrella, gluten-free bottled beer being delivered tomorrow which you are very welcome to come in and try, on the house, when you are in the vicinity.  He'd be happy to stock them if there was a demand for them.
