PC help needed

For some reason when I access Gmail or virgin media mail I have half a page of blank white and the mail is squeezed into the bottom few inches and is very difficult to read as most of it is off the screen.  How do I get the full screen back?  :-(

Well I opened Gmail to try your suggestions and it had righted itself!  When I opened Virgin media it still had the white banner for the top half of the page and using Ctrl - I have managed to reduce the writing to see more of the conversation (thank you) but the banner is still there!

CTRL+ will also magnify it, but that doesn't sound like getting to the root of the problem.

Top right corner there should b a Spanner click it half way down u will see ZOOM  click the + to enlarge the screen.
