No,no,no George, it is a gender issue, remember that women are badly under represented in parliament and in all areas of political life. Cameron's promise to increase the numbers of women in his government were all p*ss and wind as he hasn't given them ministerial jobs just lowly ones - not good enough! Whether you care to admit it or not women do think differently. I can tell you now that my colleague and I had many arguments about getting women into more prominent roles and we got the usual tripe of "If a woman is REALLY good and bright then I'd think about supporting her" - absolutely true. Ou response was that this 'test' was never applied to men who, as my colleague pointed out, were for the most part pretty mediocre at best but supported in their aspirations anyway. What we wanted - was the right to be just as mediocre and not have it held against us just because of our gender....something that was a head scratcher for some of our male colleagues. The fact is the worst thing any woman could do was show any signs of being bright and on top of things, nothing but nothing frightened the sh*t out of the men like that did. That was the reality.
