Jim you can buy a small specs repair kit, they generally have spare screws, mini screwdrivers and a few odds and sods in them, Aldi had them the other week, worth keeping an eye out for. If you only need reading glassses give Poundland a try - my husband used to get them from the optician at quite a price, but I lost count of the times they got lost or sat on! He now has a pair in each room - so much easier - and cheaper.
