A4(M4) Pedestrian Safety at crossings.

It was good to read the article and suggestion by Ruth Cadbury and it is a very dangerous crossing for people and vehicles turning to cross lanes.  It needs serious redesign for safety there have been so many accidents to pedestrians and drivers.  It is an over-used junction not deisgned to handle the daily flow.  Speed on Windmill Road is also an item for discussion, the traffic is too heavy and fast accommodating double decker buses and the narrow confines of Brentford Station railway bridge make passing very dangerous.  The 'slow down' electronic flash lights do nothing to slow-down over-fast car drivers.

It was about 30 years ago. The traffic then was minimal, and non-existent at that time of night. Petrol was a little cheaper too.

A number of years ago late at night that stretch was deserted and you could do a ton easily and safely. I got clocked by the police going through the Gillette junction on a Beemer bike at 3 in the morning at about 115 mph and they followed me home. Fortunately they didn't prosecute me for speeding because I was drunk.

I cannot fathom why there is a 40mph speed limit from the Lampton school section of the A4 through to Chiswick roundabout.  We can hear the roar of engines as cars 'take off' from the lights to get up to 40.  Value for the community split into two by the road, and safety, surely dictates that the speed should be 30 on this stretch.

there used to be two subways, one at Ealing Road and one between there and Windmill Road. Would make sense to recommission these IMO
