Beware! Brentford's bonkers!!  No no.. I mean "conkers"!

Next time I park outside the Royal Mail Delivery Office in London Road,Brentford, I must remember to wear a crash helmet or something!Today those conkers were falling on my head ..as the song goes...and gave me a mighty fright. Surely the Syon Councillors can do something about it ! ;0)That large conker tree is about to inflict further bombardment on unforewarned Brentfordians ..both pedestrians and motorists. So beware!This is a very sensible topic.. you must agree!

I am sooow glad that you warned us about this Jim!I hope that they will place some temporary parking restrictions and 20mph speed limit on Wood lane or it will be a disaster!  The parking slows the traffic down (I am all for parking to act as a natural speed barrier) as drivers whizz past the level crossing when the barriers rise but if the traffic flow increases it will be an incredible barrier to the traffic flow.This is a very busy walk to school route to the local primary schools and secondary schools and any increase in traffic (and the weaving drivers do when there are cars parked) will increase the danger to young families who have chosen not to use their car on the school run.This is one of our chosen routes when avoiding Busch corner and Adams lane difficulties!  Will have to have a re think ....  :-)

It's certainly "bonkers" season  Tim...notwithstanding the conkers threat!Next week they're starting road improvements in Syon Lane from the Coach and Horses end (northbound restrictions only) to Spur Road by the Syon Lane Railway Bridge.  That should be of concern to those who dart up that way from Brentford to Gillette Corner.  Essential work apparently lasting some two weeks.Diverting that traffic along London Road..and right into Wood Lane with it's level crossing..and up to the great West Road should be challenging. The narrowness of Wood Laneoutside the old Brunel College... and the speed humps too will add to the fun!
