Three Brentford Pubs closed? And reviews wanted !

According to legend at the end of WW11 there were 97 pubs between Brentford Bridge & Kew Bridge now understandably the majority were peoples front rooms, obviously no one needs that many nowadays. However I believe the 24 hour opening killed off the pub business, we should go back to the old times 11am-2.30pm + 7pm-10.30pm 11pm Saturday.

Are you confusing flats with rats Dawn ?I popped in the Brewery tap on Monday, caught the end of the Quiz. Great Pub still....up there in my top 3 of Brentford pubsSadly the rise of the Supermarkets and the taxation now paid in terms of alcohol will see a few more pubs close very soon in Brentford. When the football club moves, 2 of the 4 pubs around Griffin Park will be in trouble and the 6 Bells is always empty when I drive past, although it looks nice from the outside.

Jim,You know an awful lot about Brentford perhaps you can help, the gossip is that the George & Dragon is to be torn down and Flats are to be built. Maybe I'm wrong however I thought that the George was a listed building hopefully I am right and the flats are a no no. We certainly do not need more flats the sewers in Brentford could not cope with them.
