Julia Quilliam receives 2013 New Years Honour 

Delighted to learn that Brentford Citizen Julia Quilliam has been honoured in the 2013 New Years Honours List.  Julia has been named as Medallist of the Order of the British Empire and will receive the British Empire Medal For services to the community in the London Borough of Hounslow.  Congratulations Julia, we are all so very proud!

Nobody deserves it more Julia, a big well done.A word to the wise - when the time comes for Liz's birthday bash don't go on an empty stomach.  It's an experience to remember but the emphasis is very much on presentation rather than quantity.

Happy New Year Brentford  Thank you everyone for your kind comments.  I am absolutely delighted especially as it was such a lovely surprise.  I have absolutely no idea who put my name forward.  Yesterday I received an invitation to the Queen's garden party so really excited about that.  What a wonderful start to the New Year.

Brilliant news and so well deserved. As many will know Julia has been the driving force for so many local projects.. for example the fund raising events at a packed Syon House to the magnificent event  when the WW1 memorial was unveiled at Brentford Library and soldiers marched proudly up Boston Manor Road.She deserves the Freedom of Brentford too!
