Stop Heathrow Expansion - your votes are needed!

In light of continued press talking about expansion at Heathrow - third runway, losing respite periods, additional night flights - someone has proposed that 38 Degrees take up our cause.  If we get enough votes, 38 Degrees will adopt this as one of their 2013 campaigns.  When they back a campaign, they can generate a huge amount of publicity which can influence decision-makers.  This could be our big chance to take on the powerful airline industry lobby.Given 725k Londoners are regularly affected by the noise from Heathrow, we should be able to get a decent number of votes together.  Please use this link to vote.  You have up to 3 votes per campaign and leave a comment too if you like. Depends where you live - anywhere south of Wimbledon and Gatwick is closer.

Well yes but surely another runway at Gatwick does not mean a cessation of flights from Heathrow.

Well the most obvious benefit is that people in West London don't have to trek for hours to places like Gatwick, Stansted or Luton when they have such a great facility on their doorstep. I don't fly that often, but when I do it's a pain in the bottie if the only flights go from somewhere out in the boonies.Multiple other reasons…. but for now lets just stick with the ease of flying from a place that's on the doorstep.Tim

Gatwick "obviously"? Why "obviously"?It's somewhere in Northern France.Heathrow is great (JMHO), and yes I do live under the flightpath, and no I don't work there.Gatwick expansion perhaps, but just so long as it's not instead of Heathrow.Now, to hide under my desk…Tim
