M.Ps and those expenses

Just had a look at the Evening Standard poll on whether or not people consider that their M.Ps get too much in expenses 88% say YES and 12% NO. No-one disputes the onerous job that they do and the organisation it must take if their constituency is a long way from London but this is extracting the urine big time! As a civil servant who has just voted to go out on strike again over the appalling way we are being treated and the loss of many front-line jobs, the c**p wages and unjust staff appraisal system my comments on M.Ps expenses are not suitable for this Forum, I leave you to use your fertile imaginations!

I would also be interested to know what the Chair of the Isleworth ward Labour Party thinks about it now that a local election is approaching and La Keen is being heralded as an integral part of her "campaign team".We can read above what she thought about it in 2004 and for but, as she so rightly says, a week is a long time in politics.

I wonder what Chris Boucher, Sue Sampson and Tony Mckendry (the "campaign team" for Isleworth ward) think about this. It would give the voters of Isleworth something to think about, if they knew what the people representing the Labour Party at the council elections actually have to say about the Keen's outragous expenses.It is hardly surprising that the Keen's never answer Emails on this subject. I cast my mind back to the last general election when Paul Fisher had the bare faced cheek to ask Alan about his expenses in the middle of his victory speach, only to be threatened by a number of young Labour activists. Alan did actually say an explanation would be forthcoming. Well we are still waiting.It might be an idea if everyone that has contributed to this thread takes a look at www.theyworkforyou.com. This website monitors the performance of our MP's. You can send correspondence to the Keens via this site which in turn will monitor how many get a reply and how quickly they get one. So they would in effect be monitoring 40 or 50 requests on the same subject. I'm not sure though if they monitor how satisfactory such replies are.

SarahWe've all posted so much on this Brenford Forum over the past few years...but I don't think it's made the blindest bit of difference to Brentford's life or to the local political scene!  We're in a vaccuumed bubble!  Why haven't the local Conservatives published a newsletter for all in the Wards to see?  Or the Lib Dems?  Why hasn't Mr Keen explained the expenses matter..after he had promised to do so..and the last Election Count?

I've ranted in the past about errors and awful sentences on Mrs Keen's website..and whilst there has certainly been some improvements made..there are still a few howlers.Unemployment in Brentford is erroreously shown as 63%and when one pops along to look at Police Statistics...it seems that figures for the years 2000-2001 are the latest available!ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooCrime5436 offences of violence against the person were recorded by Hounslow Police between April 2000 and March 2001.
