Greetings Jim and well done in taking a few moments to care.I think you are right to be cautious about his History as you cannot validate any of it but I do wonder about our ‘caring’ authorities. What policy does the Hospital have in place to treat a person such as this gentleman, or with their targets and numbers will we see this filling of our bus shelters with unwanted elderly folk as the new way to treat vulnerable people?  Are there enough bus shelters in Isleworth or maybe this is a consideration for CCF or indeed the Mayor, to install a few extra.  This part of the road outside the hospital is a serious jay walking zone, and very dangerous for drivers any way.As the hospital has accepted some degree of responsibility for the gentleman by paying for his security guard maybe somebody should suggest a responsible liaison person should be appointed instead.  I realise the minimum pay for the security guard will be far cheaper than a responsible trained mediator type person, but sorting the situation out would probably be cheaper in the long run.The least the hospital could do is run hot meals out from their canteen, or sort out a meals on wheels drop for him and how about district nurse or on-going medical care?  I wonder how anyone with any common sense is going to work out how he is going to get to the Court and to help represent him in court.  How will he get back from Court to his security guard if they don't 'bang him up'.It is pretty common for elderly folk to get bogged down in a way of thinking that does not involve any flexibility.  Sometimes this is an age and background issue, sometimes it is a health issue, sometimes it can be due to medication, sometimes it is pure belligerent bloody mindedness. The ambulance station used to be along there, I don't know if it still is, and their people have lots of hands on skills with all these categories of behaviour.  I have seen for myself the careful negotiations an ambulance person has undertaken in convincing an elderly person who is belligerent and bloody minded due to illness and medication, that they need a hospital check over and the same with a PC who helped convince an elderly lady to leave her home and enter a care home.I do know that Hounslow has excellent rehabilitation flats available to assess patients moving out of hospital, but the important trained mediating type social services representative would know all this.
