the London Borough of Hounslow's Mayor smiling....and I haven't been able to find one anywhere so far. PS: I'm not being rude...or trying to be funny..I just want to save time in my search!

Thank you to Paul Fisher,Gerry Tan, Keith Iddon,Sarah Felstead and Ann Allridge for their kind donations for the Mayor's Charity Appeal Fund.So together with Cllr Phil Andrews..and the Community Group and others the total has hit £200...and I'm sure the outgoing Mayor will be well pleased when its delivered to his parlour soonest.

Thank you Matt for including this Mayor's Smile matteron the Front Page news.Of the 10 photos taken ..only one produced a smile/grim..and that one clinched the WIN!Dig that dazzling jacket in the photo...it was a trick of the Camera!£160 received so far and some more donation to the outgoing Mayor's Charity Appeal..are on their way.Thank you all.

One of the photos shows Phil and the Mayor together and Phil is pulling at his cuff (his own cuff, not the Mayors) - who I am thinking of, in the public eye, who has a similar habit?  very regal ...  ;-)

If you go to the Ealing Forum and type in say "Lawrence Tan"..and look for the recent TOPIC called  "Italics and bold scripts"...then start at the to of the threads...You will have a very enjoyable 1/2 hour looking at all the amazing ..fancy graphics...that Paul and others have been able to do. Yes, we managed to get the photo we sought..and it wasn't that easy. Ten photos were taken and only ONE produced the smile!A meet up was arranged via the Mayor's secretary..and most helpful she was too. JL took his own camera (a Cannon Ixus 500 digital)and the results were good to say the least! The Mayor was most dignified and helpful, understanding..I think..and his colleagues at the Civic Centre were most amused by the event. They all seemed to be aware of it.Total collected to date is now £160....of which £150 has been handed to the Mayor of Hounslow Cllr Dalbir Cheema.Cheques can be made payable to:The Mayor's Charity Appeal Fund.and can be sent to Jim Lawes at PO Box 1, Isleworth TW7 4RFor to the Mayors Palour, at the Civic Centre..with a covering note.I can e-mail some eight photos to you you let me have your e-mail address.

I do know him Ann, I lived in his constituency most of my life and he's a dispicable human being who refers to line dancing as "immoral sexual extravagance." The man is a joyless moronic dullard who had to buy his degree from the Bob Jones University of Meaninglessness.  I take no joy in saying he's ruined my place of birth and when he's dead I won't be sorry.  There's a big space in hell next to Hitler reserved for him.Theres many other things he's done to people that you obviously do not know about.

So..its Friday today...We plan to meet up with His Worship, The Mayor of Hounslow at the Civic Centre on Monday evening at 6pm to 6.30pm ish. The Mayor's Secretary is aware of our attendance on Monday..and the Mayor nodded his approval at the Election Count.The Mayor, Cllr Dalbir Cheema is attending the Civic Centre  at that time for a dress reheasal for his handing over ceremony the next day. So: it will be a respectful occasion and our planned donation to his Charities have been  appreciated by the Mayor's colleagues. £10 donations have been pledged by Cllr Phil Andrews. Paul Fisher....and I believe Cllr John Connelly. We hope to get a smiling photo of the Mayor on the front page of BrentfordTW8.com!

The Mayor of the London Borough of Hounslow, Councillor Dalmir Cheema is coming to the end of his busy year in office...and so time is running out to get THAT PHOTO some of us cheekily sought.I have met the Mayor on two occasions and very charming he was too...notwithstanding my cheek (and bad manners?)in drawing attention on the Forums to his non-smiling demeanour. He joked and smiled about the matter and indicated that he would oblige..with a smile..before he leaves Office.The plan..still being arranged..is to meet the Mayor early evening on Monday next at the Civic Centre to take a smiling  snapshot and to present him with any cheques we may have for his Charities.The Mayor's website at the Civic Centre lists the details of his busy year...and also highlights the three Charities which Cllr Dalbir Cheema had chosen for his mayoral year.......The Shooting Star TrustThe Teenage Cancer TrustParkinson's Disease Society.Perhaps we can get the photo placed on the front page of this website! John:  Thanks for stage managing the incident last night!! ;0) It was the last thing I had expected..... to come face to face with the Mayor. He was charming.So well done and what a good suggestion to have a fund raising photo appointment with the Mayor ..he certainly seemed very affable about the whole matter.That should be fun!

Jim, see my earlier posting (months ago!) when I suggested that a smile was achievable. As you know I provoked the reaction at the top of the stairs at the Civic Centre. The original offer was a £10 reward. I do not claim it personally but I said I would match it. How about a formal approach to raise funds for his charity appeal? We now know a photo is possible.

The Mayor was on duty again tonight (tuesday) at the Civic Centre..chairing the full Borough Committee meeting.We stood up when his procession entered the Chamber..led by the Mace carrier. The smartly dressed Mayor was as inaudible as ever, he had clashes with Conservative Councillors when he mispronouced their names..and I had pencilled some colourful notes about his performance.At the end of the meeting..we stood up..and the Mayoral procession left the Chamber and the meeting was over. There were only two of us in the public gallery..out of a Borough population of some 200,000 souls...and when we arrived in a foyer we bumped into the Mayor at the top of the staircase with other Brenford Councillors.Heck! I was introduced to the Mayor..with some chuckling going on around ..and retorts about lets have a smile. We shook hands..he called me Jim!!..I said I was the rude correspondent..but he was most charming. Next thing he said.."do you want to the laugh like this....or that" etc etc. Very amusing.  Others witnessed the meeting..but we have no photos!!So: can I claim my own £20...or do you insist I persue the matter and get a photo?

Now, Now, Gerry.  I don't indeed have photo of the Mayor - but I think you could copy his official one from the LHB web site?You are right to detect a modicum of coolness in this response to you after taking me to task about the parking of my automobile, on the Ealing site.Tsk tsk, I was most perturbed at your response to moi in detailing my difficulties with parking meters.  Y'know I took great care not to divulge your contract details to supply the heli-fleet to Monsieur Al Fayed;  I did not reveal any information about the helipad located next to your swimming pool in the back garden;  I did not even discuss the rumours about the Zecs official limo (I hasten to add that I, for one, did not believe them anyway).  All I ask is that as a simple sitizen(!) I be able to negotiate parking my car without a degree (of which I have several, according to these certificates I have downloaded from the internet).;-)
