Total parking restrictions for Albany Road

LBH has applied to put a no waiting ban in to 37m of Albany Road.This will displace residents vehicles to Mafeking Road and Brook Road, both of which are full.It will also damage passing trade to the few remaining shops.No explanation as to why but it is to probably facilitate the oversize refuse vehicles.It will also make it easier for HGVs to use Albany Road as a rat run to deliver to Morrisons and the Half Acre.Residents wishing to object must do so.I'll post the details when I have copied them but 2 notices are on the lamp posts near the kebab shop and pub

Well if that's the case it 's load of baloney and just shows that they have nothing better to do.It would make the street a lot safer if they fixed the huge dip in the road and the broken kerb stones.As for sightlines? Better remove the lamposts and the trees as well then.What a load of crap.

The map on the Hounslow website clearly marks the area outside the garages. It comes under the heading: "Proposed Waiting & Loading Restrictions Statement of ReasonsThe Council is proposing to introduce various waiting restrictions around the Hounslow borough to prevent obstruction caused by parked vehicles thereby improving safety and sightlines for motorists and pedestrians."Which clearly doesn't involve miscreants either selling drugs or defecating in the street.

Unfortunately it would seem that once an ordinary person becomes a Politician they quickly forget what real life is like and wanting to be one of the "boys" vote regardless, although that does seem to be altering somewhat at least as far as HOME rule is concerned.I am a firm believer of Gas,Electricity,Water being brought back to Government dictates also that the NHS & Police plus our Armed Forces given the appropriate funds to run efficiently and cohesively. Let's have politicos instead of infighting do the right thing and work together for a better Britain.

The trouble is the Police are getting messed about with by politicians and their insane initiatives and at the other end of the stick the legal system.Now top cops have to be politicians and businessmen just like the NHS which is full of management who are hopeless and too political.It's been a mess for decades and probably always will be.  It's a miracle that they manage as much as they do but it ain't good enough at street level

Incidentally that is not ment as a slight to our Police, it is a fact that Police Stations are being closed on a daily basis consequently less Police to go around.Parliament need to re-think this outrageous strategy because we need more Police not less. Crime never decreases it only gets worse.

Heaven forbid a police officer gets called to deal with a blocked access in Albany road, There's a risk the officer might trip on the dropped kerb and get hurt.

If as you say it is being used by Drug Pushers then surely the Police should be doing their job and making arrests, although at the moment it is easier to order a Pizza than get a Police response.

That kind of makes sense, I've noticed the cars with blacked out windows often parked up that side road and up the one in Lateward road by the chinese takeaway and the threatening look you get from the occupants if they see you looking at their cars.  Has anyone else noticed that it's always teenage girls who run up to the cars and put stuff through the windows and then walk off? What is it exactly? Or is it a cultural thing and I'm missing something?But I do agree, a 10 min waiting would suffice to prevent the food shops suffering and if these are draconian restrictions they will finish them off.I hope they object and hope residents support them. Maybe thats the place to have the petitions?

I've just been to have a look with a neighbour.The notice is rather confusing but we think it does indeed apply to the garages which are about 37m long.Currently there are polite no parking signs but they are in part hidden by the trees on the site.The kerb though is a dropped kerb for the full distance.This means there are already mandatory restrictions. That is to say you cannot park over a dropped kerb access.They have also already painted double yellow lines in the car park access to Charlton House.My neighbour suspects this may have all come from a Police recommendation as of late there has been a lot of anti social behaviour around this area and the access is a favourite rendevous for drug dealers and the gangs who roam around in cars.Anyone walking past here at most times of the day cannot have failed to notice some of the rather flashy cars that pull up here and tour the streets then vanish.However, if the restriction is to be a zealous on along the Albany Road garage line. It will seriously impede passing trade for the 3 businesses and this is really a residential street.Someone stopping by the garages for fish and chips is hardly a serious issue and hardly an issue for the garage user. but it will be for the businesses if they lose that trade. And another blow to the life of the district it they become no longer viable and close.10 mins max waiting would be better but there is no mention of what the restrictions are exactly.It really does seem like someone has nothing better to do at LBH

I would like to know the precise reason and location before lodging an objection and will sign a petition.But I do think this could be devastating for the small businesses there as well as the pub ( although no one should be drinking and driving!!!)

Thanks for posting the objection details.How does one set up an online petition?However, even if the restrictions just refer to the parade of garages, I totally agree, not needed. No-one parks there for more than a few minutes and if someone does it's a traffic offence and the police can deal with it.Traffic wardens can too but I suspect it will be exactly as  Anthony suggests, Serco wardens sniping 3 minute shoppers.This will be devastating for the remaining few businesses and yet again shows how totally incompetent and hypocritical this authority is.

If as you say it is the garages then surely a nice big notice painted on the forecourt of the above of NO PARKING should suffice. Or could it be just be a case of doing a favour for a friend and not expecting such a response, makes one wonder???

The description is so vague that the precise location cannot be established.However blocking an occupied garage is already a road violation and does not need an enforcement order.That said if it does refer to the garages, It would be helpful if the notice actually said such.The garages are seldom used and most vehicles parking there are either the occupants own vehicles or passing trade for the fish and chip shop or kebab shop. Hardly a serious obstruction but if the band of sniping wardens are going to do the same as the do in Brook Road then the two businesses will suffer huge loss of business.Yet again they are spending money on things totally unnecessary whilst failing to deal with real problems.  Like the constant trail of human faeces, dog feaces and paan spitting in this exact vicinity.

Not making excuses however when you have been hard at work all day and you are nearly home, you do expect to be able to park outside or near your own home not see it taken on a daily basis by motorist who do not even live in your road.Again the Council have to ensure that parking facilities are incorporated within new builds.

Individual objections will be ignored put up a petition on line and it will gain momentum, after all it would seem that LBH are emulating our EU overlords once a precedent is set on Albany Road all off roads will be treated the same.Then of course tempers will flare and the powers will have won the day. I can see the headlines now(Hooligans are taking over in Brentford for parking places)Both Councillors and Politicians must be reminded that they are voted in to do their utmost for us not what suits them.

The Lead Councillor in the LBH Cabinet with responsibility for Parking (amongst other things) is Cllr Ed Mayne.  He is a Labour Cllr for Isleworth, not Brentford, nor Chiswick where he is causing mayhem and great discord.  Lead Cllr Ed Mayne calls the shots!  This has never happened before in the history of LBH (or any other local council I think) in an unprecedented action,  Cllr Mayne has over-ruled all 9 local Chiswick Councillors (also ignored a massive 93% no CPZ vote by residents) and is about to impose a CPZ on just one and a half roads right through the middle of Grove Park.  There is a last minute effort to try and persuade him to cancel this decision - we shall know our fate later this month.I don't know anything about your local Brentford Councillors, are they in thrall to Cllr Mayne, or are some of them fighting with you residents against these road by road creeping CPZs in Brentford?

The 37m in question are in front of the garages. Technically parking here is already illegal because of the dropped kerb, but unfortunately most motorists seem to be entirely ignorant of this, making a more visible restriction necessary.

Why will LBH not give a reason for this parking restiction surely it is not only good manners but our right to be told.Unfortunately only anger and ill feeling will transpire because of this prohibition!!! You only have to look at the building gong on across the way to see yet again that there will not be sufficient parking

Sharing some objectionsParking restrictions will compound existing parking difficulties in the area. Drivers will be forced to search longer for fewer parking spaces. This will result in:1. increased traffic noise2. Increased traffic pollution 3. Increased danger to cyclists and pedestrians4. Increased likelihood of road rage from drivers frustrated at not being able to find a space and consequently an increase in violent exchanges between drivers and onlookers.

Yet more evidence that Hounslow council is doing all it can to force a CPZ onto this conservation area.  When I moved here 15 years ago parking was easy, apart from on match days. The rampant over-development locally and imposition of street by street CPZ's have created a parking problem now recognised widely by residents. This latest proposed set of restrictions will exacerbate the problem on neighbouring Brook Road South and Mafeking Ave, as well as Grosvenor and Lateward roads.  I have no hesitation in pointing the finger at our local Councillors who do not listen or take into consideration the concerns and needs of our community. The room too many is a silly ruling that has not been thought out,will these people be allowed to rent it out quite frankly would you want to with so many wierdos around nowadays.These idiots who come up with bright ideas like this have absolutely no idea of the real world, do they not appreciate that there are people who wish to downsize and yet there are no properties available.It will only worsen when Romania and Bulgaria have entry to the UK next year already this morning we hear that schools will be overcrowded are they not already and yet the powers that be surmise that it will make no difference to the housing problem assuredly not their houses.However I digress garages are at a premium in Brentford also if I lived in the flats at Albany I would expect a parking spot.

Ideally commercial vehicles should not be permitted to park in residential areas also new builds should have a mandate that adequate parking will be incorporated within their planning.LBH has the authority to ensure that this happens therefore not penalising residents.

Just been out and seen the signs too.Why is the question?  There is no problem there unless large trucks are parked near the corner and restrictions already exist for those.Definitely smacks of manipulation ..againI note too that most council housing has off street parking and or garages.Even though tenants on benefits may risk losing their home if they have a room too many, they still get garages at a 50% discount and do not pay for parking spaces. All of course, subsidised by all other council tax payers

This is typical of the back door manipulation to create a problem to laed residents into a corner and demand a CPZ.I use the section of Albany road all the time and the only problem there is with beer can toting drunks from the Betting shop and a trail of human turds.Funny how they can impose parking restrictions but not deal with the social problems.

Parking is a problem all over the town, all these new builds and not adequate parking facilities are the blame, down our road it is really becoming a problem we have a block of flats across the way and insufficient parking for them consequently they are continually parking outside peoples homes who rightly or wrongly consider the piece of road theirs to park on.
