Kew Gardens

Thought I would let others know:If you become a 'Friend of Heligan' (The Lost Gardens of Heligan in Cornwall) for just £25 individual annual membership, then that also allows you FREE entry into Kew Gardens and Wakehurst Place.It costs £71 to become a 'Friend of Kew', however you do get benefits which you wouldn't with the 'Friend of Heligan' membership. A single visit for an adult costs £14.50, therefore visit twice in a year and you have your money back!The maths doesn't add up for me!Enjoy x

Well said, Adam, although I doubt that the gate-keepers at Kew would check your passes very hard.My most recent payment, by DD, was £59, for which I can take a guest in with me, by pointing and saying, 'Plus One'. I call that excellent value.

I looked at this but it's not as great as it appears.  If you paid £50 for two people to be Friends of Heligan, then only the two named (it expressly states 'named') ticketholders could go to Kew Gardens (and I'm sure the powers that be at Kew would look very carefully at the names on the passes and ask for ID to ensure the two people wanting to enter were the named ticketholders).  Whereas for £61 (paying by direct debit) you can get individual membership for Kew Gardens and take anyone else with you for free (i.e. a different person every time).And there's the other small extras you get for being a Friend of Kew.So whilst it's fine if you're never likely to want to take anyone else, or only ever take the same person, it's not much use if sometimes you go with your partner, other times with different family members, friends etc.
