Roadworks on Ealing Road junction with A4

Does anyone know what's happening  with the roadworks on Ealing Road which seem to be going on for weeks? It's causing large tailbacks on Windmill Road every morning and evening as traffic is diverted, with knock-on rat-running along surrounding streets. Lots of fruity language from enraged drivers getting stuck along the narrow roads!  Air quality is also being affected by the fumes from standing traffic! Any idea when we can expect the road to reopen?

There was a notice in the Hounslow Chronicle that said these works will take place from 29th March till 27th April 2013!

Yes, the diverted traffic is a nightmare. I live on Junction Road and had to walk past a traffic jam this morning, all hooting horns and the like. Apparently they're doing something with the gas supply but that's all I know. Anyone been in touch with the council about it? Agree with you about the air quality.
