Not so long ago. Fund raising still goes on in Boston for extreme republican groups.

Well, that was a long time ago, and I think above all 9/11 was the defining moment for the USA. Good bit in The Sunday Times yesterday saying how they've all gone in a flat spin over this one incident but everyday 85 people are shot. The American psyche seems to fear foreign nutters more than the homegrown variety, not to mention the Texas explosion where the plant hadn't been inspected since 1985! An accident waiting to happen it appears.

Lets also hope that the small minority of Boston residents who donated thousands upon thousands of Dollars to the IRA in the belief that terrorism is ok elsewhere have now come to their senses

I have been to Boston so many times and absolutely love it there, it is a generally very safe city and pleasant to walk around. To see those poor people under lockdown was very unnerving so delighted that this awful situation has finally ended. We can only sympathise with the citizens of Syria and other middle east countries where they face this sort of thing on a daily basis, makes you think.
