Hounslow parks and pavements
Is anybody else finding Hounslow's current approach to the upkeep of parks and pavements seemingly at odds with itself?Out in Chiswick I see that Peter Reed's proudly gold painted postbox outside Chiswick Town Hall has a wonderful back drop of 3ft high weeds. Opposite, on the green at Heathfield Terrace, there are signs saying that the, seemingly pristine footpaths are to be replaced within the next 6 weeks. Looking at a number of the pavements in the surrounding area, they seem far more in need of replacement than an innerpark pathway.Carville Hall park did seem to be leaving patches of grass to develop into meadowland, but that seems to have now been changed. Instead, where the lawnmowers have been, there just remains clumps of dried grass, yet elsewhere in the park, and within the pond compound, there is a density of tall weeds apparently not requiring treatment. It just seems a bit - replace something that does not need replacing, and mow down something that does not seem to need to be mowed; leave the pavements that need replacing, and the weeds that need removing....odd..
