Mrs Keen..our MP and the local Labour Party

So: Hounslow Labour Party have a website...But Brentford Isleworth (and Chiswick) Labour Party seemingly don't.Confusingly, Ann Keen is referred to as the MP for Brentford and Isleworth...but she covers Chiswick too.I'm still learning the ropes.THE HLP website includes the following extract about Mrs Keen.   Her commucations with Chiswick residents regarding Police Matters seem misty. "ANN is currently working with local police to assist in recruitment and retention of police officers. The good news is that more recruits than ever before are coming forward to join the Metropolitan Police and we have more police and community safety officers than ever before on Hounslow’s streets.  This is impacting positively on crime in Hounslow.Ann meets frequently with local organisations and has supported and assisted many  individuals through her advice surgeries. Through meeting you, she knows that although much has been done there is a lot more to do.To contact Ann and her Parliamentary Team, write to her at the House of Commons, Westminster London SW1A 0AA or go to her website at “www.AnnKeenMP.org.uk”xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxMust check that website again. Does it list her current and future engagements? Perhaps the Press are aware. But how about me? (!)xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxI've noticed that our good friend Gerry is highlighting on the Ealing Forum...that the Ealing Labour MP...seems to be invisible too. No website etc etc.  Does that mean some 150,000 residents in Southall, Ealing,Chiswick, brentford and Isleworth are being kept at arm's length from their respective MP's?xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

PhilDon't let them get away with that. What you are being sent is a holding reply, not a response to your casework. They (whichever department they are) have an obligation to come back to you with a response. This should be one of their PI's - I'd be surprised if it wasn't.

It would be interesting to know what qualifies as a response.  As a councillor I am entitled to expect a response to casework enquiries within ten days.  One department invariably sends me a letter on the tenth day informing me that "this matter is being looked into and we will get back to you in due course".  I rarely hear from them again without having to chase them up, but they can honestly claim to have responded to me within the stiplated time period.

Mrs Keens response`s total is 46% against the average MP`s response of 62%.And that about sums up how Mrs Keen applies herself to her responsibilities wouldn't you agree?

Thanks very much Vanessa for the excellent link you guided me to.As its about 9 weeks now since my first e-mail i was beginning to think Mrs Keen was ignoring me!!Incidently,the site shows that Mrs Keens response`s total is 46% against the average MP`s response of 62%.

For anyone who is still possibly interested!! i have still to recieve a reply to any of my e-mails from Ms Keen or indeed her Secretary Anita Ralli.As a potential voter,should i expect a better service than this from my MP?

Did you see the photograph in the paper of the Blairs Christmas card, yesterday?  The editorial did a breakdown of what they thought were the topical points we should be enlightened over - their 'body language', 'hair', 'fashion', 'make-up', 'airbrushing', 'image'.  They still managed to be derogatory towards Cherie!  The body language is a bit strange - his, not hers.  The paper said that Cherie's body language was very assertive and Tony looked like a relaxed and accessible leader...it looked to me like she was acting as an anchor holding him still to stop him rushing off...? stand still Tony while they take this photo.  Has anyone been on one of those leadership courses where you analyse your style of leadership?  The outbound people used to run them.

There must be something seriously wrong with the way that the New Labour’s local constituency party operates when Vanessa, who I understand to be a long standing member of the party and ex-councillor, is in effect, totally excluded by not even having been extended the courtesy of being advised by the constituency party of the event. Unless of course this was a strictly private affair, hosted by Mrs Keen. Then again it was only in October when a sitting councillor, Cllr John Connelly who represents Hounslow Heath ward for New Labour, advised us that despite being a ward councillor, he was not extended the courtesy of an invitation to an event on 15th October 2004 where Her Majesty the Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh attended at the Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Alice Way, Hounslow to celebrate the 2.5 million pound development to the Sikh temple. An elected representative such as a ward councillor being excluded from an event of this nature would be hard to defend if the elders of the temple were responsible for the exclusion. Totally inexcusable however if the constituency party of New Labour were responsible for the exclusion.  So much for the New Labour slogan of ‘Britain is working’. It seems though that New Labour just isn’t working together with its councillors and supporters to achieve its goals.

Well, I kinda thought that I might have made it onto the Christmas card list for this year - and I wasn't sure what I would make of that...parliamentry questions don't come cheap do they? (or so I have read..).  I s'pose that an over-zealous junior official will have taken my name off the list now.

Yet again i have e-mailed Ann Keen because i have still yet to recieve a reply.I have also emailed the following to the Local Labour Group.Good Morning, I have been trying to contact Ann Kenn regarding a question about her expenses using the e-mail facility on her website. She has still to respond to any of my e-mails despite me sending it three times now,can you please investigate if this is normal practice?
