A Question Regarding The 1 Bed Housing stock/Bedroom Tax

With the Current rules regarding the Bedroom tax and people having to pay or Downsize, alot of Councils up and Down the country ave 2 few 1beds with thousands waiting 4 1 so my Questions are:1. How many 1 bed properties does Hounslow Council have available to let? 2. How many tenants are deemed to be under-occupying, and needing one bed accommodation?3. How many people are already on the waiting list for 1 bed properties? Thank You

"This information should be brought to the attention of our local Councillors and MP, Mary Macleod."That would be hilarious if it wasn't so tragic - the government went off on this without even bothering to find out what possible options people hit by that cruel, discriminatory tax would have. So what do you expect the council, let alone the fragrant Mary to do? Put on their hard hats - get a hod and start building?

Simon,This is very useful information you have obtained. The demand for  1 bedroom council housing in Hounslow appears to exceed supply by nearly 12 to 1.This information should be brought to the attention of our local Councillors and MP, Mary Macleod.

I expect that could be replicated across the country Simon, but I doubt Iain Duncan Smith who lives rent free in his father in law's stately pile gives a sh*t.

Here are the Answers from Hounslow Council regarding the Hounslow Borough:1. How many 1 bed properties does Hounslow Council have available to let? Hounslow Council have 50 1 Beds Available to Let2. How many tenants are deemed to be under-occupying, and needing one bed accommodation?As at 25th June 2013, 126 applicants were on the waiting list who have "Under Occupancy" as a Bad reason and who require a 1 bedroom accommodation.3. How many people are already on the waiting list for 1 bed properties?As at 25th June 13, 593 applicants in total are on the waiting list for a 1 bedroom property.NB: A large number of Applicants have still to identify the number of Bedrooms they Require.(so basically the numbers could be higher)

Hi Simon thats a few interesting questions and I suggest you submit a Freedom Of Information request to Hounslow Homes which you can do on the Hounslow Council websiteI think they have 21 days to respond
