Prudential Ride London 4th August 2013

This event could have a knock on effect to Brentford residents The Post below has been copied from CCF post on Chiswick w4The following roads will be closed in our borough on Sunday 4 August:• The A4, westbound only from central London to the Hogarth roundabout, from 0500hrs until c1430 hrs (also closed eastbound from Earl’s Court)• The A316, both directions between Hogarth roundabout and Chiswick Bridge, from 0500hrs to c1500hrs.This will leave the following area landlocked to motor vehicles for much of the day:• Chiswick Mall / Church Street / Fullers Brewery• Pumping Station Road / Chiswick Pier• Edensor Road / Chiswick New Pool / Dukes Meadows playground• Staveley Gardens• Riverside Drive / Esporta Riverside Leisure Centre  / Rowing Clubs / Golf Club / Dukes Meadows recreation groundsAccess for pedestrians and cyclists will be via the A4 subways at Hogarth roundabout and Chiswick Lane and further east towards Hammersmith.Bus routes affected:The E3 buses are likely to terminate at or near Chiswick mainline station and route 190 is likely to be completely suspended or diverted via Kew Bridge.  Details expected shortly.Effect on Chiswick town center: Possible long eastbound queues on the A4 between the Chiswick and Hogarth roundabouts (due to queuing back from Earl’s Court and the closure of the A316 through to Chalker’s Corner) will mean lots of eastbound traffic diverting onto Chiswick High Road, Sutton Court Road, Dukes Avenue, and Chiswick Lane etc.  Plus lots of extra westbound traffic from central London on Chiswick High Road.  No rail maintenance works expected that weekend, but lots of delays on the road network.Take heed and prepare!
