St Pauls Primary school gutted

St Pauls school is on fire and is virtually gutted.Apparently caused by building contractors.Smoke over a wide area.But disgusted by the chap who stood in Lateward Road jumping for joy and clapping and chanting the name of a prophet.  I've never felt so incensed to take a swing at someone before.Who is he and did someone video him?

What happened to Sandra James? My boys went to St Pauls school and she was the best school head i ever came across. She did alot for the school, the pupils and the parents. I always said that if i won the lottery (im still waiting) i'd send her a big fat cheque... she was the best!!

Re-opening tomorrow.What a 'baptism of fire', no pun intended, for John Wright the new headmaster.He's a lovely chap (ex-Christ the Saviour Primary, Ealing) and I hope the rest of his first year is nowhere near as eventful.

No need, the air has been laden with asbestos from the demolition of the Alfa-Laval site which was built with asbestos laced concrete.It's a huge cover up. No response from LBH enviromental services. No return calls or letters and the HSE is passing the buck to LBH.Try making a complaint to the Environment agency and they say it's a matter for the HSE who say it's for the local authority.A month after demolition commenced and at the height of windy weather, the best dust control was a bloke with a domestic hose pipe.5 months later and they still cannot decide who is investigating what.What is fact is asbestos or not everyone between here Syon and Kew has had at least a months worth of concrete dust inside them. But of course it could be 30 or 40 years before we know the consequences.

No coverings at all on any of the site. Which is unusual.I can only assume that the damage is already done and there is no point covering    over until new materials are ready to replace.However it is odd to see that much of the recoverable material which one can see laying around and hanging precariously have not been recovered and set aside.

Thanks Chris for the "ancient and modern" observation in that picture.As one views the scene on turning the corner in Lateward Roadthe silhouette of the bare fire damaged beams is most striking.You mentioned whether the tarpaulins had been fitted yet.have they anyone?

Thank heavens no one was killed. I don't know if anyone was injured or affected by smoke.Anyone know?

Interesting  picture Jim  - the contrast between the old school building and the new Renault electric car.The damage to the school is a great shame.  The fire seems to have travelled widely throughout the building, or at least through the various roof spaces, judging by the multiple points of damage to the roof as seen from all around the site.  I presume there’s considerable water damage from the fire hoses (as well as smoke damage) to the whole building, but I was surprised earlier in the week to see that tarpaulins hadn’t yet been erected, and today’s heavy rain won’t help the building to dry out.

I'm sure he was not the full shilling, But then can one describe the likes of Abu Hamsa as the full shilling?Are they deluded, confused, mentally imbalanced?Are these people a danger to use as a whole?One can just turn the other cheek but sometimes I wonder if that is the right thing to do or is it better to challenge these people?

I think 'bemusement' is the least that this chap can expect. How about anger especially if your child goes to this school? I wonder what whether 'bemusement' would be enough if there had been some fatalities?

Reference to "imbalance" comes from Jim's post, and isn't about the state of the individual.As I said in my post it baffles me why anyone would celebrate a fire at a school, but some of the content of this thread goes beyond that basic bemusement.

Not sure I follow you Adam but I have never suggested he had an 'imbalance'.As he was aware enough to skidaddle when someone tried to video him suggests otherwise imo. Surely a 'balanced' individual would not celebrate a fire at a primary school? If he isn't a few bob short of a shilling, he must be a pretty horrible individual wouldn't you say?

Oh dear, oh dear.Did anyone actually politely ask this individual why he found such an unfortunate event so entertaining ?.  Or did you just jump to conclusions and come on here rabbiting on about some kind of 'inbalance' ?.Had someone asked, people might have been better informed.  Perhaps the guy was completely 'sane' but for whatever reason got some kind of pleasure from the fire.  Doesn't make sense to me either, but that's not the point.  Quite possibly the guy had some kind of issues - in the neighbourhood where our office is there's a perfectly normal, well dressed middle aged lady who clearly has problems of some sort as she can be found, every day, standing outside certain buildings (including my office) just staring whilst talking and gesticulating to herself.  But I don't come on here calling her names or using her behaviour to suggest that there's some kind of imbalance in favour of middle aged white women...

Had anyone managed to clip that moron around the ear, no doubt the former could be quickly arrested for assault and bundled in a Police Van and find himself in Court for his disgraceful behavior!But if the roles were switched..and you cheered at a burning Mosque in some Islamic land..it's likely that you'd be hammered to the ground and severely injured by a raging mob...they being praised by the local Iman.There's an imbalance being tolerated in this world right under our noses.Let's hope that the School and all who are attached to it.. make a speedy recovery.  Quickly erecting scaffolding and covering the roof against the elements would be a good start.

I don't suppose he did Vanessa and as the coward had it away on his toes. Hopefully someone who can identify him saw him so he can face the same charge any other moron who celebrated a fire at a mosque or a Muslim school would face.

It would make me wonder if he had started the fire and I would have been well tempted to stick one on him too. Why are people like him living in a society they so obviously hate? Wouldn't be anything to do with welfare benefits and freedom of speech would it?

Missed this entry, I posted the same as well.I saw that chap too. Silly B****r!I do hope that idiot was someone who is not the full ticket. He was going on about Allah vindicating vengeance on the infidels of Christianity. I hope somebody had a quiet word with him. Had he used his eyes he would have seen that most of the children evacuated from the summer school were of mixed faiths, I wonder if he would have found that funny too if they had been in serious danger?It does make one wonder sometimes.  Did you see how fast he ran when a photographer started to approach him with a camera?
