Old that they may be, The Piccadilly Line trains are pretty good. The seats are comfortable and the overall design is very good. As are the soon to be scrapped District line trains. The new District trains have less seats and are as mentioned quite uncomfortable for the longer journeys made. Quite why LU are going backwards with comfort is unexplained by TfL or LU.The new Victoria Line trains are gadget packed and shiny and new but comfortable they are not, Even the arm rest have sharp bruising edges, very poorly designed. They lack any type of style, they look clunky and chunky and dated &  full of dirt ingressing corners. It's funny how some of the now museum pieces of the 1930s to the 1960's are so smooth and streamlined and very comfortable and human freindly in so many ways.Seems no point of stopping at Turnham Green, I often take the Bus from Brentford to Gunnersbury or Ravenscourt Park where the District line offers both a seat and a calm ride and a decent and reliable frequency. Less so westbound as it branches at Turnham Green.Unless they change the signalling positions, Stopping the Piccadilly line at Turnham Green during the peak for just one minute will add 3 mins of delays right up the line factoring in braking and accelerating times. That compounds right ip the line in both directions and would not be of benefit. So whilst the locals of Turnham Green want the luxury of 2 lines, they do have a good link east  without the overcrowding that blights eastbound Piccadilly trains and are just a few minutes to Hammersmith where at least a fair amount of people alight from the Piccadilly line.
