Warning Drivers : Yellow Box Junction

A camera has been installed outside the Express Tavern on the junction with High Road and Kew Road (Kew Bridge) recording drivers entering the southbound Yellow Box Junction. I was snapped with my two front wheels inside the yellow box, and although I was waiting patiently for the bridge to clear and allowing any road user to exit or enter Strand-On-The-Green, I have still been rewarded with a £130 fine.P.S.  Not looking for sympathy as I know that rules are rules.  Just thought I’d best share my experience to help others avoid such a fine.

I used the poor quality marking at this junction as a reason to dispute a yellow box fine, taking a photograph and sending it in with the appreal as evidence - and was successful.I believe Hounslow refer to this Yellow Box as 'The money box junction'

Which is not the case if turning right from London Road onto Kew Bridge and being prevented by tailbacks on the bridge.

There are 2 cameras and one has been operational since the now removed bus lane on Kew Bridge.What is annoying is when the markings are so faded that they are not visible and when they are completely invisible in the wet. It would be good if the grids were marked with small yellow LEDs. So they are always visible as these are places where you really need to have your eyes on the traffic not on the tarmac.

I think the junction at the north side of Kew Bridge has long been a money-spinner in this regard.
